Nope... hes' a 4/3 MLB....or a Running Back.
Q: What position do you think Myles Jack will play in the NFL? Outside linebacker? Strong safety?

A: I think he’ll stay at outside linebacker, maybe in a 4-3 scheme. His coverage ability is his best attribute, and that’s a premium skill at linebacker in today’s NFL. I think keeping him in the front seven is a better way to utilize his versatility, but he’s certainly a viable candidate to play strong safety too. It might depend on what the team that drafts him needs more badly.

Sideline to sideline speed and coverage ability at Lb doesn't translate to Safety. He's 6.1 and 245lbs.

Jack has the athleticism & tools to play in pretty much any scheme...but I think he would be a great fit in Marinelli's scheme at MLB. Brian Urlacher played as a hybrid LB/S in college (3-3-5 scheme). He also had 6 TD's on offense & 5 TD's on kick returns. Similarly, Jack impressed on offense at RB...has covered the slot, and is outstanding in coverage from his LB position.

Urlacher played a good deal of his NFL career under Lovie Smith...who utilizes the same scheme as the Boys do.

More impact playing closer to LOS. Can cover TE or RB easily and disguise blitz. Great 3 down LB.

Didn't we move Lee to wlb to save his body? Jack looks smaller than Lee. I dont get it. Urlacher was huge.

To be honest, I watched some clips of him at lb and he looks weak at the POA.

I think some of those was from true sophomore year. 2014 he was built almost like a RB. If you see the one from this year you notice a significant increase in body built and power he delivers.

That would be a waste. Su'a Cravens is the only top OLB I would move to safety.

Yep...Urlacher was a big dude...owning a somewhat rare blend of size, athleticism & instincts for the position.

Unfortunately, Lee has been prone to injury since his college days. His last severe injury basically occurred on a non-contact play...with his knee buckling and giving out before Martin engaged him.

Some guys are seemingly capable of holding up & playing well despite a smaller stature. A recent example from this past season would be Kwon Alexander, who at 6-1/228, started 12 games for the Bucs at MLB and notched 93 tackles, 3 sacks, 9 passes defensed, 2 Int's, and 2 forced fumbles.

Some of the smaller/more athletic guys can also use speed & instincts to navigate blockers & make plays.

Have seen Jack listed in the 240+ lb. range.

Jack can play Strong Safety but he will be going higher than a SS normally does in the draft. LB's are worth more than SS's. If you draft him to play SS you are probably paying too high of a price for a SS but if he ends up being a really good one it is worth it. Noone wants to improve the secondary more than me.

Su'a Cravens is another LB that could play SS. This draft has some really strong SS possibilities but they are all likely gone before the 3rd Rd.
