TAMPA, Fla. - It's about 88 degrees and overcast this afternoon. It just sprinkled on my 20-minute drive from the airport to my downtown hotel, but there's no mistaking that it rained hard at some point earlier today.

According to the Tampa Tribune, there's a 50 percent chance for showers Sunday with an expected high of 89 degrees.

Both teams expect to have strong ground games this season, so that could offset the weather. The Cowboys are probably more worried about the steamy conditions, considering they spent so much time indoors during training camp and the preseason.

There is one way showers could help the Bucs. No edge rusher is quicker than the Cowboys' DeMarcus Ware, so a soggy field could aid Tampa Bay LT Donald Penn as he tries to keep the NFL's defending sack champion away from QB Byron Leftwich.

"He's one of the best, if not the best," the Tampa Tribune quoted Penn as saying of Ware in Saturday's editions. "He does everything well and is very explosive. My work's going to be cut out for me, and we've got a circle on that guy. He's a playmaker who can win games on his own."

The Tribune pointed out that Ware's 20 sacks in 2008 tied Hall of Fame LB Derrick Thomas for the sixth-most takedowns in league history. Ware also had eight tackles for loss and six forced fumbles last season, statistics that have the Bucs offensive linemen worried.

"Ware's definitely a game-changer," Bucs C Jeff Faine told the Tribune. "He's a guy who will disrupt a game plan if you let him. You can't put just one guy on him. It has to be a team effort."

I really hoping this is not a raink soaked game.

Sorry, as much as we want to hype up our trio of RB's and say we can win this game on the ground the simple fact is the Cowboys chances ride on the passing game.

Dallas is not a ground and pound team.

what makes this colunmist think that the Cowboys are worried about the "steamy conditions considering they worked indoors this training camp". It just amazes me that journalists, many who have never even played flag football, want to interject their opinion based on some scenario they dreamed up that night. Do you honestly think the Cowboys did not consider everything when the DECIDED to work indoors this summer? Therefore if they THOUGHT that working indoors would be counterproductive, perhaps they would have CHOSEN other accomodations.

It is just an ATTEMPT to take a dig at the organization for making a decision that this columnist thinks may backfire. Win or lose, working in San Antonio for 3 weeks will have ZERO to do with the results.

I was more worried about the temperature.

89 degrees won't be optimal (w/ high humidity, I'm sure) but it could have been much worse down there.

The temperature nor humidity will be a factor . It's going to be cloudy and wet tommorrow. The only break from rain today has been between 1-4. It's been a constant drizzle eversince.

Trust me there ain't going to be any problem with the weather. I live about 10 minutes from Raymond James and the weather's been beautiful the last couple of days. It'll probably be a little bit cloudy, maybe some rain, but nothing to worry about.

It's going to be a beautiful day tomorrow.

I live in Tampa and it rained all day here. It's going to rain tomorrow. Let's hope it's in patches and not windy.

Whats the deal here? We've got two people living in Tampa saying two different things about the weather. What gives ?

on weather.com right now they have a couple of flood warnings out for local rivers etc etc...

weather is now expected to be mostly rain and thunderstorms tomorrow

the field will probably be a slop fest...

both teams gotta play on it though, so it isnt an excuse if the field is a mess and its rainy all day

Yeah soggy fields will limit Ware's effectiveness rushing the passer but the same came be said for their defense... I want to see Dallas pound the ball and hit the TE's for good yards.

Tampa's field is one of the best in the league, if not the best. It has good drainage and won't be sloppy even if it is wet.

Rain has been on and off and it is likely to be the same tomorrow. But Dallas should have the advantage no matter what the weather is. Our talent on the field is much better than theirs.
