I have a gut feeling the Sensabaugh signing MIGHT be the best move of the offseason.

I can't bring myself to criticize Davis. I think he did the best he could with the tools he has. It looked to me like he played his heart out all the time, which is something we can't say about many Dallas defenders.
No doubt about it. He did do the best he could and he did lay the wood every chance he got. If he had the talent to match his heart, he would be a pro-bowler easily.

hmmmmmm if he was so talented, why did the jags let him go? i'm taking the "believe it when i see it" stance. still better than what we were starting.

This is why:

The Jaguars liked his ability but had questions about his ability to stay out of trouble.

Off-the-field issues have been a problem for Sensabaugh, who was arrested as recently as February for driving with a suspended license. He previously was charged for carrying a gun without a license and also for riding his motorcycle dangerously.

You hit it right on the nose. I checked out two of Jaxonvil's boards right as the signing was announced to see the consensus on the move. Not many people were happy at all with letting Gerald go. A few members were beyond PO'd that he wasn't retained and that he was one of the few players who was still out there giving it his all when their season was obviously over.

All this does is equate into great news. Our main problems over the past few years have been coverage problems.

With Newman getting older with each passing year, his skills will diminish like anything else with age, we need solid Safety coverage like we had with Darren Woodson and Roy Williams as a rookie, he was a hitter and great intimidator then, while Woody was one of the best in the league, and teams thought hard and long throwing the ball on that secondary.

I'm happy we finally or should I say (hopefully) found someone that had coverage skills. Hamlin will step it up this year with someone that he can depend upon to cover when he's up in the box playing the run.

I'm excited about the possibilities !

Baring serious Injury TNew will be at the top of his game for at least another 2-3 years so worrying about his decline is kind of stupid right now.

On top of that we've kinda been addressing CB in the draft the last 2 years.

When healthy he's an elite corner, but I am worried now that he's on the other side of 30. He doesn't have a history of injury problems, considering he started 60+ straight games - but I'm worried about all of these nagging injuries that won't seem to go away.

I love him, he's our best DB and is really underrated - but he needs to stay on the field if we're going to keep saying he's a top 5 CB.
