Cowboys RB Tashard Choice is a skilled runner and receiver, but what separates him from other backs is his blocking ability.

"He knows all the protections," Romo said. "He is one of the smarter backs I've been around."

Choice said he learned how to pass protect while playing for Chan Gailey, the former Cowboys coach, at Georgia Tech.

"Coach Gailey's offense, the pro style we ran in college, was very similar to what we run here, so picking up pass protection and understanding it, came pretty easy to me," Choice said. "And the first thing they tell you is that everybody in the NFL can run the football, a lot of people can catch the football, but if you really want to stay around, you've got to be able to pick up pass protection. So I made sure I picked that up early."

One more reason to love having the guy on our team, he won't get our QB killed.

that explains why Felix is so bad at it, they hardly did any of that at Arkansas, and most of the time were probably better off if the QB was getting killed.

I hope all the Choice is not as good as Barber and Jones, people are reading these articles.
I'm not saying Choice is better, I'm just saying that all 3 are equal, Jones need to polish up his pass blocking.
But all 3 brings something different, all three would start for other teams, but I like Choice most because in my opinion he has something extra, and he has proven to be more durable and dependable, so far

Choice needs to do whatever Crayton did in the offseason to improve his speed. He's so solid all around, a little extra quickness would put him over the top.

He plays a large number (maybe a majority?) of our 3rd down snaps, even when Felix and Marion are both healthy, due to this.

Choice is smart and wants it. He's our most consistent back and it's easy to see him get better and become a leader.

He's already quicker than Barber.

Choice has to be one of my 5 favorite players on the team.

Co-sign. He's just a football player ... and that's what we want.

I like Choice, but he's also had a few missed blocks this season that got the QB hit, so let's not get carried away in praising all aspects of his game.

I'm glad he knows the protections, but he doesn't appear to be in Barber's class yet as a blocker against the blitz.
