Cowboys RB Tashard Choice is a skilled runner and receiver, but what separates him from other backs is his blocking ability.

"He knows all the protections," Romo said. "He is one of the smarter backs I've been around."

Choice said he learned how to pass protect while playing for Chan Gailey, the former Cowboys coach, at Georgia Tech.

"Coach Gailey's offense, the pro style we ran in college, was very similar to what we run here, so picking up pass protection and understanding it, came pretty easy to me," Choice said. "And the first thing they tell you is that everybody in the NFL can run the football, a lot of people can catch the football, but if you really want to stay around, you've got to be able to pick up pass protection. So I made sure I picked that up early."

Good to know at least one Cowboy has learned something from Chan Gailey... good lord...

Prolly has something to do with the fact that it is usually positive yardage every time he touches the ball, without the turnovers.

He plays a large number (maybe a majority?) of our 3rd down snaps, even when Felix and Marion are both healthy, due to this.

From what I've seen, Marion is by far our best blocker. But he needs a breather, and you dont lose much in pass protection w/ Choice.
