Myth of Jerry Jones in the draft.

How many times since Jerry has been owner has the Cowboyz made a splash in the draft, according to me, None.... why do some of you guys every year say jerry is waiting to make a splash in the draft and trade up?

As far as i can remember we have traded down basically every year or stayed put. yes we traded up for Spencer, but that was late first round and after trading down with our first.....

I have never known Jerry to trade up big time. Oh I think we traded up 2 spots for RW also., correct me if I'm wrong... so if your looking to trade up big time for get about it.................

But you are right about BIG trade ups.

However he has said multiple times in the last few years that it would have to be a major player he wanted and it would take willing partners.

Most of the time you want to trade up a big amount Jerry is going to scoff because it would take too much or another team would want someone like Ware or Witten (if you recall they asked for one of those two when Jerry inquired about a trade one time). So there has been times he has inquired but just has not traded up.

But then again I guess one could argue he gave 2 1st round picks for Galloway and the 1st round and lower round picks for R. Williams so he has made big trades concerning draft picks...just not to move up big IN the draft.

I dont know of anyone that says JJ "makes a big splash by trading up." I think most refer to his moving around which he does in most drafts.

I don't know...almost every year before the draft many posters constantly bring up huge trade up scenarios. Now some might mean what you are saying but there are plenty mean what Q was talking about.

Yup, and got an extra 3rd & a 6th for doing so if I recall. It looked like a very sweet deal at the time and even for a couple years.

We drafted Derek Ross with that pick. He was a headcase who ended up not working out. Imagine that.

Well Jerry did pull off quite the move on draft in that old t.v show "Coach".
