I just re-watched the 1st half of last nights game. I concentrated on Nagy and Smith on each play. I thought both of these guys played really well. Nagy was consistently getting to the second level and overall was very athletic and active, and from what I could tell, made very few mistakes. Smith is extremely athletic and impressive, and in my opinion played better than last week, and I thought he played a good game last week.

I don't pretend to be a scout, but I am excited about our line this season.

I think Nagy and Smith will be starting together at some point this year. Holland could come back and start, but I think Nagy will be the starter when he gets injured. (and he will get injured)

It's time to put the starters in there that will be starting and stop the auditions. The OL needs time to gel and work as a unit.

I hope so ...... sooner we make the transition ..... sooner this team can take the next step.

on the play the Nagy's guy got to Romo, it kinda of looked like Romo's fault.

Smith is a beast already. Love it.

Nice hands to the face on that first play and T. Smith still humg in there.

I would like to see them name the starters and have them play together this next game, which is generally considered the dress rehearsal. I think it will be some combination of Gurode and Costa, at least to start the year. The rookies look promising but I don't think they will them in the fire (other than Smith) immediately.

I want to see him throw guys around. I want him to be nasty mean where he breaks players during the course of the game.

I agree the starting OL needs to work together, but I think they're still trying to find out who the starters are. And even if they're convinced Holland is the starter, he missed about three weeks, and just came back. For a guy who's as out of shape as he is, he's not exactly game-ready.

If the best players are on the field it will include Costa at Center, and Gurode at Gaurd.

Rightnow Kosier is better than Nagy, then Arkin.

Agreed with the bold.

But how in the world is it Romo's fault that Nagy was driven straight backwards like he was on ice? He never made anything remotely resembling a good blocking technique on that play.

He played pretty solid the rest of the game. I wasn't nearly as impressed with Arkin as I was the week before. I keep seeing people say he played pretty well but he didn't impress me at all. He looks like a rookie backup(which is fine).

I LOVE Kosier next to Smith. Forget who mentioned it on the board a few weeks before it happened, but great idea.

On the play I am talking about Nagy got driven back, but Romo walked right up into the tackle -- I'm not saying Nagy was great on the play but there were other places for Tony to go -- of course, Garay is a guy who really came on last year -- he's hard to contain

Whereas I liked Arkin last week, he did seem to get worn down late

No, it was Free's fault. Free's man beat him with an inside move. Romo stepped up to his right out of the pocket, but that's where Nagy was guiding his man after he also tried an inside move. Nagy would have pushed his man wide of Romo if Romo wasn't forced to step up.

Based on this game, I agree. Costa and Arkin were flawed, while Nagy made no mistakes.

If Holland isn't back for the Game 3 warm-up, I think Nagy will be the starter.

Nagy never had control of the linemen, he was pretty much driven backwards from the get go. How is that Free's fault?

If Nagy had a solid block and Free's man forced Romo to step right, I'd understand, but that wasn't the case.

It's young players like Smith who pay the biggest price because of the lockout. Just imagine how far along his development would have been had there been OTA's, minicamps & some weight conditioning. Same goes for all the other rookies and even the 2nd year players -- none were able to participate in any kind of club sponsored weight conditioning in the offseason.

Right now I would be more than happy to start the season with Free,Nagy,Gurode,Kosier and Smith. I don't care of Nagy is a rookie or a 7th rd pick I care more about the play and honestly he is looking better right now than Davis or Colombo. Will he make mistakes yes he will also learn. Strange thing is going into pre season I was expecting the rookies to be getting called for holding and jumping off sides and yet that has not been the case these young guys are doing the job.
