So many really good players listed.

One from left field is Andre Gurode. He played 8 seasons for Dallas and made 4 or 5 Pro Bowls. He never seemed to be appreciated by Dallas fans.

Lee Roy Jordan who belongs in the Hall of Fame. And Erik Williams who is not mentioned enough outside of Dallas Cowboys fans.
He was never the same after that brutal car wreck
When John Madden was the analyst on Cowboys games, he ALWAYS extolled the play of No. 79.
Seems like during every telecast , he would say "Erik Williams is the fiercest, meanest, nastiest offensive lineman in the league."
He said it with not only much respect - but I could detect glee in his voice everytime; the thought that immediately entered my mind was,
'Madden's thinking "Big E would have been the perfect Oakland Raider - he would have fit right in with those players and teams I coached." '

Coakley and Nguyen are both under rated imo. They did get some decent reviews in their day but that's about where it stopped.

Flozell was about to be run out of town when BP came on and made it one if his first orders of business getting him re-signed.

Free was crapped on sooo freaking much, but took a pay cut and was a solid player for us.
Not sure what happened to Free in 2012, but it gave his critics a chance to pounce because he was actually as bad as they always thought him to be (when he was not). I think part of the problem was that he never really was an NFL left tackle and it caught up to him. When they moved him back to the right side, although he struggled there as well in 2012, he regained his form and gave us a few more decent years.

He played through injuries his last year in Dallas and gave up several big plays.

Dallas let him go.

Then he went on to have a whole other career after Dallas.

He was also like 25 or 26 when he came into the NFL and had a long career.
It was a little like the DeMarcus Ware situation. Newman was having some trouble with injuries that affected his play so the team decided to move on. They had no clue that either would be able to stay healthy and bounce back like they did.

Yup.

Newman had elite speed when he was drafted.

Dixon Edwards - helped set the tone for the early 90’s defenses

Tough and could really lay the wood

Not mentioned anywhere and he was a cornerstone of that defense

Old school guy here so I have a couple of underrated guys from wayyyyyyyyy back. George Andrie and Jethro Pugh. They went underrated because they played on the same D line as the best of his era...Bob Lilly. Both Pugh and Andrie had long careers, were on SB winners, made multiple pro bowls and all pro lists. Both were gentlemen off the field also. Almost no one remember Andrie for anything but he even led the league in sacks one season. And sadly a great long career by Pugh is overlooked completely save for being on the receiving end of the Kramer block in the "Ice Bowl."
One season during camp Andrie held out in a contract dispute. He did a TV interview where he said he was holding out for an additional $3000. That is correct; just three grand. Well GM Tex Schramm and owner Clint Murchison were bombarded with criticism. Multiple fans came forward and offered to pay the money. Within about 24 hours the team gave Big George his $3000 and was back in camp.

Dez Bryant.

For several years Bryant was arguably the most entertaining player on the Cowboys roster. Physicality combined with a ferocity that’s rarely displayed at the receiver position. He shied away from NOTHING on the football field - Dez would return punts and kickoffs, run sweeps, fearless over the middle, good blocker and convinced us that EVERY 50/50 BALL … was HIS!

Among the Cowboys All-Time receivers Dez Bryant is: FIFTH in receiving yards with 7459; THIRD in receptions with 531; and FIRST in TDs with 73.
