that's it? lol
I really have not watched many movies in recent years, especially modern movies because they seem to be saturated with special effects, vulgarity, poor acting, bad editing and predictability. Several of the ones I tried to watch lately were so boring to me I did not even make it through the entire movie.

There are probably a few older movies I've seen 5 or more times, but that was probably when they were on TV a lot when I was younger. I don't count those because most of those were less about choosing to watch and more about nothing else being on. The only movie I have chosen to watch many times over the years is Dumb and Dumber. That said, I only made it through around 30 minutes of its sequel that came out in recent years before losing interest in it.

In most cases where movies are based off books, the books are so much better than their movie versions. If you read a book before the movie then watch the movie, it seems like the movie is on fast-forward the entire time. More importantly, you realize just how much was left out of the movie including things that were very important to the story. It's even worse when the movies deviate heavily from the books.

Well, THIS was a good memory exercise. That is not entirely accurate. I surfed over to boxofficemojo.com, copied their top 4,000 domestic grossing films of all-time (sue me/I kept noticing titles I know fit the OP as I kept going through their database :p /they have over 15,000! ), and picked from that list. It was weird seeing all the other titles not on my list that I know I have seen at least once but have not seen more than (I think) five times:

All of these except Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolff. 4 times because I memorized all the naughty words by the 4th viewing. If they release a Director's Cut with more naughty words, I will add it to the list. I also have some pretty awesome naughty words I could volunteer as it is my second language unless you listened to my wife who thought English was my second language.

Why would you watch the same movie 5 times?
Back in the day there wasn't anything called "sreamist" .You were a slave to the cable network with limited options or you had your own movie collection (VHS / DVDs).....hence you rewatched your tapes.

In bold at least five times, about half more than once, and probably 90% at least once. To that I'd add Hoosiers, Rudy, Bull Durham, Slap Shot, Kingpin, There's Something About Mary, Raising Arizona, Fargo, True Grit, Shaun of the Dead, Night of the Living Dead, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Little Miss Sunshine, Groundhog Day (which seems fitting), Breaking Away, Some Like it Hot, Caddyshack...and many, many more.

Way too many to list. Basically, anything with Swartz, Stallone, Bill Murray, Chevy Chase, most Segal flicks, Titanic, Superbad, Something About Mary, etc, etc........

I have watched 40 Year old Virgin maybe 30 times :lmao:

For me all above, but excluding Titanic (rather watch the true documentaries on 1912, etc., than a fictional movie).
