He wears short shorts ....

Got me? Mike Geachter (I butchered the spelling of the last name)

Or Dennis Hollman (I misspelled that last name too)?

You came close on Gaechter.

#24 is Dennis Homan.

I had a feeling it wasn't Mike Gaechter. Since Iron Mike Ditka was in the shot I figured it had to be 1969 or later and I guessed 1970 which was after Gaechter retired. I just didn't know who it was though.

With Ditka in the photo it narrows it down. He played from 1969-72. Gaechter last year was 69. Homan played from 1968-70, so it was 1969 or 1970.

I remember Homan, but never would have guessed him, even though not to many players wore # 24. I guess he would be a bust being a #1 draft choice and only playing three years here with 23 receptions for 437 yards and 1 TD.

He was the player holding on this infamous play.

Penalty History - For the first time in anyone's memory in an NFL game, points were awarded for a penalty. The Cowboys were holding in the end zone on a 99-yd. TD pass from Le Baron to Clarke, and Pittsburgh was awarded a safety. The Steelers eventually won, 30-28 (Sept. 23, 1962).

Lance Alworth

Was the top picture when he was at Arkansas?

Yes, Alworth while at Arkansas.

But you are only half right.

(I was being tricky)

Mr. Sunshine, who is #34 in that picture? Doesn't look like Cornell Green.

I thought the same thing when I saw that picture .... he doesn't look like Cornell Green.

The weird thing is that Ditka and the others are wearing three- striped jerseys, which we had ditched several years earlier. We must have held on to them as practice jerseys or something.

Kudos to the guy who got Homan right.

Alworth never exposed himself to little girls waiting at a bus stop (I hope).

:laugh2:

You were. I just looked at the number, I knew the top one was Alworth.

On closer examination of the bottom one, I see the "R" for Rentzel on the back of the jersey.

They do.

Here is Bob Hayes in a 1960-63 road jersey.

Multiple Pro Bowler Herb Scott, who caught Staubach's last pass. Of course, the play wasn't drawn up that way.

Thats a trivia question for the ages. How many people would that stump!
