Remember the talk that you need not just talent in your line-up, but playmakers, those players who have a knack for pulling off something special when needed.

Who do you see as the top 5 Dallas playmakers in 2007?

I'll start

1 - Romo - this is no bus driver
2 - Ware - this guy turns over busses
3 - TO - I'm thinking Garrett believes a quick way to enhance his OC credibility will be to get the ball in this guys hands.
4 - Roy - I'm gonna go ahead and suggest that Hamlin & QB pressure solves the puzzle
5 - Julius - I'm gonna believe that BIG is gonna exert himself on enough plays to let the newly de-programmed robot break some big ones.

Truthfully, I hope I can say it's the 5 guys on the OL.

That said...

1. Roy Williams
2. DeMarcus Ware
3. Terrell Owens
4. Marion Barber
5. Jason Witten

You're going to have to explain this one to me.

No disrespect, but how can you watch TEK's Romo video and leave him off your list?

Because its a highlight video.

(Cue the "oh, but it showed a couple of INTs" responses)

The rap on Davis (also known as BIG), is that he can physically overpower anyone when he puts his mind to it, but he doesn't focus every play.

Consistency from the other 4 returnees, and a new "no Parcels" spring in Julius' step.

Clearer?

Nevertheless, the plays that make up the video are authentic.

Yeah. And I bet you can put together a compilation video of say, Eli Manning or Michael Vick making some great plays throughout the season, too.

I understood that part, but offensive lineman don't carry the rock, the running backs do. And to date, with few exceptions, JuJo has been anything but a playmaker.

I hope you're right, but I don't see it, personally.

I guess because I consider impact plays differently than most. I consider them to be INTs, Forced Fumbles, Sacks, Big Hits, TDs scored more so than Passes Completed or even TD Passes.

Thus while I have confidence in him and high expectations I do not have him in my top 5. It is not out of disrepespect for him. I just see a playmaking defense and some very powerful scoring weapons. The offensieve weapons making an impact will be doing so thanks to him.

Plus, it Owens is on your list (he is), he is probably scoring TD's (safe assumption for why he is on your list).

And for Owens to score TD's, its safe to assume its coming via receptions and not via handoffs.

And since its probably coming through receptions, someone has to be throwing him the ball.

And we can probably assume its not Barber (since he is on your list). So its probably Romo (another safe assumption).

So one could conclude if Owens is to have a good year, Romo probably will too....and therefore, you aren't saying he will have a bad year just because he didn't make your list.

I think you got it perfect with this list.

Two of Romo's receivers are on my list. I think Witten will have a very big year. They can't do well without him doing well.

1. DeMarcus Ware - if you watched our defense last year, noone made more plays.

2. Roy Williams

3. Romo - Yes, the receivers are playmakers, but Romo made plays with his feet, his arm, and his awareness last year - huge plays, and not just the heave-it-up variety.

4. Owens

5. Marion Barber - Not the strongest or the fastest, but he gets it done, and made a lot more plays than his counterpart last year.
