OT: Tom Ashworth NE, young guy that can play either side. Or,
Jordan Black KC, ditto.

ILB: Sam Cowart MIN, vet with 3-4 experience. Or,

Ben Taylor CLE, young guy with 113 tackles last season.

FS: Corey Chavous MIN, heady vet that can play the ball.

K: Mike Vanderjagt IND.

Now these names make sense.

Every time I see an FA thread, I expect to see people wanting Bentley, Hutchinson, and Abraham -- AT MINIMUM.

Nice to see someone on this board is still in touch with reality.

I like that list, but I would like to add Miami FS Lance Schulters (4 INts, only a year older than Chavous) and Pat OG Stephen Neal (people are saying that he could be the NFL's most athletic guard)

Will Demps is a Saftey I would like to look at or Chris Hope.

Certainly kick the tires of any named FA kicker, the Vanderjagts (sp), Vinitieri (sp), and anyone else that has shown an 75-80% or better accuracy range. I dont know what a good kicker is kicking these days, but anything below 70 seems way to low. Get a kicker anywhere, anyhow youcan.

I can live with this as FA, then another strong draft.

You don't always need to make the big splash / big names to sign.....uh...ala D. Snyder

Very reasonable list, IMO.

Hmm... I dont like much of the LBs options that much, although haven't seen Ben Taylor that close or noticed him. But like rest of the options, not too sure about Vanderjagt, seems like if you get him, you need a kickoff specialist. Not sure BP wants to do that.

Good list... really good!! Me... I'd leave out Vanderjagt and take Longwell instead... Longwell kicked outside, unlike MV.

Yeah, good one, I like Longwell too. Not a controversial guy either.

First he is a RFA, which means they have the right of refusal and get a draft choice if they let him go.

Second, he is terrible. He was one of the reasons their entire offensive line struggled until Willie Roaf came back.

K: Mike Vanderjagt IND.

I would bet my home that he does not get signed by Dallas. If he couldn't kickoff in a DOME, he wouldn't kickoff for Bill Parcells.

The rest of the list was palatable.

Akin Ayodele OLB Jacksonville and be done with it

Aside from the fact Ayodele is from Dallas, why is everyone so in love with him? I really don't get it.

I like it , but would rather have Matt Bryant for a kicker . If Glover goes , Ma'ake Kemoeatu from Baltimore would be a guy I'd be real interested in .

why are folks so in love with this guy? has he ever played in the 3-4? He's from Dallas -- is that it?

he seems a little small to be a 3-4 OLB -- he's about the minimum size you'd want there. He really didn't play well last year -- he went from being a full time starter to starting only 11 games.

What about Peerless Price? I mean he had great numbers when he had Bledsoe as his QB in Buffalo.

What it looks like is that nobody knows.

Almost like some looked at a free agent list, heard he was from Dallas, thinks he'd be cheap and said "how about him?".

I mean seriously, who was watching Jaguar games this year and said "Akin Ayodele. Now THAT'S a player we need!"

Schulters has a history of being brittle, isn't he injured like, all the time?

I like Tom Ashworth at RT. He's supposedly very intelligent and athletic. I also loved his work as "Fraud Monitoring" in the Visa commercials.

I'd also like Titans C Justin Hartwig and Nedney over Vanderjagt. I'm intrigued by Joe Jurevicius as well, although I don't know where he'd fit for us.

I think we should give him a 2nd look, after all it wouldn't hurt having him here an entire preseason so he could get more reps and playing time. It was hard for him to 'fit in' given the fact he signed here after the season started last year. Bledstud just didn't have enough time to rekindle their rapport they had in buffalo. It still sucks that Donahoe had to trade him after Drew turned him into a superstar overnight!

And I still think it was a BIG mistake to release him here. It was only a matter of time before Bledstud would have found him regluarly and utilized him as a dangerous downfield weapon. He was making progress, especially in the MNF at Philly. Blame Sean Payton for screwing up the Price situation.
