Now that I'm done makeing a fool of myself, I'll add my thoughts to the convo.

I think the Titans are trying to jerk Jerry around on this one. If they keep it up, I hope Jerry just tells them "Fine, you don't like my offer.... find somebody else to do business with" and then just leave it alone.

If they are serious about not having him back, they'll eventually pick up the phone and give Jerry another call.

Give them a fifth and hold out to the draft and then they will cave.

Thats pretty much what I am saying. I realize that a lot of people are saying we are bidding against ourselves but i also think that there is the future to consider as well. The Pats gave up a 4th for Moss and while their respective skills are similar, Pacman is more of an anathema.

I really think that a 5th is fair in each and every way, I think offering that and sticking to it puts us in a position where we are not lowballing them. Im sorry a 7th is lowballing them. It also puts the Titans in a position where they can save face.

I am fine with that and only up to that. Tell them that is our best offer and if they want to take it then to give us a call. DO NOT CALL THEM BACK.

I hope they are forced to ultimately cut him.

And then everyone will clearly see what a joke the Titans' front office is.

"How to turn a first round draft pick into absolutely nothing in 3 easy steps"

Actually, they can't cut him. I read that Pacman has fulfilled parts of his contract that now prevents him from being cut w/o the Titans having to pay out a huge bonus to him. Also, if they keep him, his contract becomes guaranteed no matter what off the field incidents, or suspensions, he has. The Titans only option is for Pacman to agree to renegotiate his contract with another team, which he's done with the boys, and for the Titans to trade him. This is the Titans only out. If Pacman is still on the roster come training camp, then his contract is fully guaranteed no matter what. So, the Titans have no room for negotiations. If anyone knows what I'm talking about and can add more specifics/details please do, and if I'm wrong please correct me.

You know as well as I do, that I can't say on here what I'd really want Jerry to tell them.

This is true and once hes reinstated if they dont trade him Pacman will file a grievance to get the 1.25 mil that is owed him now.

Him being reinstated might bring some other teams to the fore but it also makes it such that Pacman has to be put on the roster and a player cut. His cap value hits their cap, he is allowed into their lockerroom, meeting rooms, has guaranteed moeny owed now and in the future. Basically they have to trade him at that point.

Newspapers, old drinking buddies told me something, Deion, ESPN.

When are all these sources gonna be right about the Cowboys?

For some reason I cant remember the guys name but he's on NFL Live and Around The Horn. He's a black dude. Anyways he was saying today on NFL Live that Wade is really pushing for this to get done. He thinks that they could do a lot more with Pac being out there.

Just say no to pacman. No 4th no 5th no 6th no 7th no nothing. just say no Jerry.

I am starting to think you might be slightly leaning against us acquiring Pacman??

NFL Network stated at 3pm mountain that a deal would be done sometime Tuesday. Dont shoot the mesenger, Im just relaying what was said.
Like all the other bogus claims on this issue over the past few weeks, take it for what its worth.

He who blinks loses.

I totally agree and I hope it's not Jerry. I'm on record as thinking Pac can help this team but not at anything more than what we have already offered. This article bothers me...

I wouldn't doubt that at all. Like Wade said with T.O., he's never really had a problem with a player in 30 years. So I can see him wanting another man cover corner so he can mix up his coverages and send more people.

I wasn't aware of Jones being guaranteed money if he stays past a certain point.

Makes sense why this is going down. It's in everyone's interest to get this done.

The league and our wonderful commissioner should now be wanting Pacman to go away. The best way is to reinstate him and let him go to a team. The media will be all over it for awhile then it will calm down into the season. It will almost go away if there are no problems and he does well. That's best for the commis and the NFL.

Best for Pacman. And the Titans and lets JJ go on about the business of a draft. With him in fold before the draft there will be a little less talk.

I don't know what significant increase means but I hope its not more than a 4th this year and a conditional pick next year; hopefully none next year. But I wouldn't have a hissy fit up to a conditional 4th.
