I didn't question what Jerry said because Romo has been sold on Miles for quite some time.

It seems like yesterday when some here were ready to run Miles out of town. So is the fallacy of snap judgments.

I am not a huge fan of the version of Parcells that was here, but a lot of really good, low-rounders, FAs and UDFAs came on board during his regime.

How much of that is thanks to him?

Tony Romo is a Sean Payton discovery, Jim Garrett gets credit for Miles Austin and basically all of Parcells good or great draft picks have had their best year(s) under Phillips. Meanwhile the known "Parcells picks" in the first round (Carpenter and Spears) have not really been worth those picks and it's only thanks to him being talked out of taking Spears first that we have Ware.

Add onto this how generally great the last few drafts have been for the Cowboys and I really don't know how much of that you can thank Parcells for. Simply getting that huge amount of dead money off the team's cap helped us a ton.

Parcells changed jerry's direction in the draft - putting more emphasis on character and actual production rather than potential alone. Those changes have outlasted Parcells stint with the Cowboys. The discipline he brought in has been maintained for the most part. Jerry kind of lost his way in 2008, but took care of the garbage to begin 2009 anew.

Thank God for the more knowledgeable fans, otherwise the Parcells' cultists would be giving every win to Tuna. Bill may have had the players on his team, but he did nothing with them. Romo was a 3rd string QB, Miles was the 5th WR and STer, Rat was a backup DE, James was playing at 260+, Barber was a backup RB, etc.

Parcells and Ireland got waaaay too much credit for the drafts under Parcells, I think the common denominator is Ciskowski. The true Parcells' guys like Spears, Carpenter, Hatcher, not to mention all the failed OL taken on the first day have been underwhelming.
