RW38 - Stays. Need Roy to make that big hit like he did his first three years. The defense is lacking that.

Carpenter - Gone
Tank gone 4-3 guy
Thomas - Gone 4-3 guy
Canty - Gone

Spears - Maybe says he doesn't have a contract and might not have played up to his potential. Doesn't understand not playing hard just because you don't have a contract. Prove that you deserve one, earn it.

Campo and Pete did excellent jobs getting the rookie ready to play.

Bennett going to break out next year.

On fixing Romo - a serious run game, knowing down and distance, knowing the defenses you are playing. Go back to sound football. Tony has to become a manager and manage the football game. Offensive line has to play much much much better. The last 6 games were like and adventure every time he dropped back. Get plays in earlier. People have to know where to line up. Starts with the coaching staff, get the play in early enough for tony to get a presnap read. play sound team football overall.

Said the media backed tony into a corner and cracked him mentally. They didn't get the facts about what really happened.

Lewis, Dawkins, Reed will never come to Dallas. They are film guys and never feel the need to get away from football. They don't need days off, they live football.

You know what's so sad? Even non-NFL players like me can see what's going on with this franchise. And yet the former NFL players, and Cowboys no less, are saying the same thing.

I'm really concerned about Romo. If we don't get a coach in here to manage him or if the coaches on the staff don't equip him with a running offense that allows him to manage the game, he's going to be lost. You can tell he is demoralized by the "Can't win in December" albatross that hangs around his neck.

This team has put too much on his shoulders too soon. For his career, Garrett and Phillps better run this offense through Barber-Felix-Choice next year.

It's imperative for the Cowboys' success and for Romo's health and career success.

Spears IS under contract.

7/30/2005: Signed a five-year, $9.35 million contract. The deal includes $6.7 million in guarantees. 2008: $602,500, 2009: $735,000, 2010: $1 million (Voidable Year), 2011: Free Agent

I doubt we get him but Brian Dawkins is exactly the guy we need on defense. You bring him in, make him a defensive captain, and tell the team to follow his lead or start looking for a new line of work.

I know he is only good for about 2 more years but if this team isn't Superbowl contention in the next 2 years then we have seriously wasted some talent.

We should be able to get something for Bobbie Carpenter. He could still make a decent Weakside linebacker in a 4-3.

He was talking about the when TO, Crayton and Williams spoke with Garrett.

I dont understand how he can get cracked like that.First off once you start playing all the nerves should go away, it becomes a game. A GAME THAT CHILDREN PLAY. Also he says its just a game and if the worst thin that happens to him is to lose a football game he will be happy. Well talk about no pressure, come on. cracking under pressure is lamest excuse ever.

i dont want dawkins at all. he took so much pleasure in beating us..that dumb dance.

i agree with nate about a good running game. we have to use all 3 next year and protect Romo better with a solid running game.

and even though not everyone is a TO fan how many Cowboy fans have forgiven (conveniently forgotten) about the ultimate sin of him celebrating on the Star?

Hate the Eagles but have always admired Brian Dawkins. Plays the game the right way.

Alright saw we get Dawkins, doubt he would wnat to play for the cowboys. But for sake of conversation we bring in what, a 35 year old safety in Dawkins to play one year? than were screwed again? Hamlin is wrapped up in money he will probably start, so we have to big hitters at safety and no ball hawk?

Never thought about it but could some of Romo's problems been that the plays came in late and he did not have time to always read the defense?

This I think would help Tony Romo more than people care to admit. One of the best things that ever happened for Troy was having that mamoth O-Line that could just ground and pound people into submission, allowing them to use Emmitt to physically wear them out and keep Troy clean.

I can't even remember the last time this O-Line kept Tony virtually clean for most of a contest, let alone an entire one.

It used to seem like Troy would go forever without even seeing a defender near his feet, let alone hitting him, where as Tony is running for his life almost every freaking play.

we don't run enough. Tony is not as good as everyone thinks. our passing game isn't as good as everyone thinks. we have 3 good runningbacks that have to be used correctly. even the greatest passing offense of all time(the pats last year) fell to a team that ran the ball and played solid defense.

I commented back in September that is scared me that Romo didn't look like he was having fun playing football. I think he's tired and worn down by the media and fans demaning perfection without having all the facts or understanding.

Now, we can argue about how the QB of the Cowboys has to overcome all of that stuff, but I do think it had an impact on Romo. Worst of all, I don't know that he really has anyone outside to help shelter him. A guy like Parcells grounded him when he needed it and built him up when he needed it. Bill would take the media to task when they were out of line about a player, if it was needed. A guy like David Lee was helping him with the intricacies of playing QB, and Romo trusted him.

Now, he's got a star receiver in his ear for the football, a coach that allows it, an owner that encourages it, and a coordinator who gives in to it. And you think it's not hurting Romo?

Should Romo tell TO to shut up and play football? If he does, it's WWIII with TO and all of the defensive guys who are already on TO's side. And if he were to say something, fans would say he's thin-skinned.

He's damned either way, and he has absolutely no buffer in this situation. So he drops back to pass and waits too long for #81 to get open because that is what he is supposed to do. And because the line can't hold their blocks, he escapes trouble and keeps looking. And finally, he forces a throw he has no business making only to watch the receiver let the ball be intercepted, or watch the receiver quit on the route, and in either case, he still hears about it on the sideline.

To be clear, I actually don't think all of this is on TO. I think it's the environment. I think it has set up a guy like Romo for failure.

I think so as well. I don't know if we need him, but certainly someone like him, or a Lewis that is a maniac out there demanding players go hard every play.

Sorry I don't care about any of that. I want guys who are football players period. Hard nose tough guys that live football. I got a lot of respect for Dawkins, he plays the game the right way.
