It was Pau, but I'm not sure if that was all that was involved.

The rumor was Kevin Love + #2 pick for Pau Gasol, which is crazy. If I'm LA, I'd do the #2 for Gasol because if some of the CBA rumors are correct, the could position themselves to outright sign Dwight Howard in 2012.

That would be nuts

Monta Ellis is a great offensive player, but he plays -50 defense.

My kids call him Goat Boy because they say he looks like a goat.

i think the mavericks dont need Ellis, you guys have too many guys that are 1 dimensional already, i think caron butler is the only guy that is really good offensively and defensively. If the mavs cant get A+ talent it would be one thing, but they dont really need depth, they need upside. in other words, if they can get ellis and turn him into a high draft pick, that would be more desirable IMO

Idk about the Ellis thing.. the Sixers had a rumor going last week about Iggy for Ellis and that dissipated after GS said they don't wana trade Ellis.

Love for Pau Gasol or Marc?

I was wondering the same thing.

I was thinking why would we trade for a player we drafted then traded for OJ Mayo? :laugh2:

The only way I could see Ellis fitting in with Dallas is if Terry left/retired.

It is rumored the Blazers backed out of a trade for Parker last night. The Blazers did not want to take on Jefferson.

Blazers would have got Parker, Jefferson and pick #29
Spurs would have go Miller, Batum and pick #21

i dont really like that trade for us anyway, miller would have most likely been bought out, so its really just moving up in the draft, batum and cap space in a year

That's what I was thinking. I'm sure it was just another rumor with no legs.

Assuming Butler returns and Roddy B improves, that team is fine barring any major loses. They also want to get Dominque Jones some minutes, so there's not much room.

The depth counters the age fairly well. So it seems getting a young guy with big upside--like Davas Bertans--may work for them. In any case, they will for sure take the best player available by their rankings, regarless of position.

That would have been crazily scewed towards Portland, imo. Miller is through, or close to it.

I heard it was this:
Blazers get Parker and Jefferson
Spurs get Miller, Batum and #21

That seems to make much more sense.

In any case, it fell through.

I think it just depends on who you believe.

The San Antonio Spurs and Portland Trail Blazers nearly completed a blockbuster trade on Wednesday afternoon, but the deal fell apart in the late stages. San Antonio was prepared to ship Tony Parker and the #29 pick to Portland in exchange for Andre Miller, Nicolas Batum and the #21 pick. Other players would have been added in order to make salaries work. However, the deal died when the Spurs insisted that Richard Jefferson be included in the talks. Since San Antonio's attempt to add Jefferson, talks have quieted, but they could pick up tomorrow if one of these teams has a change of heart.

spurs traded george hill to indiana for kawhi leonard, a second round pick and some euro guys rights.

kawhi could be the second coming of bruce bowen, but i really wish we could have traded parker instead of hill

id take him for tony parker

The hawks wantef parker for bobby and a pick last year. Teague emerged last year in the playoffs. We need a 5 more than anything. Horford is an allstar but belongs at 4

yeah NY is 17. Vucevic would be a good option if no one falls, so hopefully you guys don't take him

Looks like you were right, ha. Idk how high his ceiling is though. Seems like he's just an adequate defender and rebounder with not much athleticism.

I like the Vucevic pick also. I was on another board and a lot Sixer fans are pissed about this pick. Calling him a bust and stiff. Size, post play and rebounding is one of the things the Sixers lack last year so I like the pick.
