I know but they have been getting high picks for a while. It's rigged.
lol...

Man... too bad the LAL isn't the NBA's favorite team.. they would have rigged it for them the last three years...
I'm all for conspiracies... but come on....
LAL would have won one of those years if it was rigged.
Some of it may just be sour grapes on my part, but when the Knicks actually have our pick, we always move down, 2nd worst record, fell to 4th (worked out great btw, but still )
I do think the last two years that the Lakers would have had to surrender picks to you guys, the NBA made sure they fell to where it needed to be. Maybe they figured they couldn't screw you guys twice, ie, give the Lakers #1, which means you guys fell down and don't get their pick, I don't know, I just don't think the results are random every year.
Lots of talk that the Sixers are going to take Simmons. I am actually wondering if the Lakers might consider trading down? There are three teams in this years draft with three first round picks so any of those teams could move up. I actually wonder if Boston might try and trade up? They have a lot of talent already so I don't know if all three first round picks would help them much? They might feel like a Simmons or Ingram might be more valuable. This could get interesting.
The Sixers are idiots for getting rid of Hinkie.
Nah... he was good at tearing it down.. but he strained a lot of relationships with agents, and other GM's...
You have to do business with your peers... the Ish Smith trade was nothing more than a good will trade with NO, considering that they traded them damaged goods (Jrue).. just a few years ago...
Now, did they handle it well? no... did i like the league interfering? no...do I like the coagelo's? well, not bryan... but we'll see how it all works out...
I'm just happy embiid is healthy, and we have the 1st pick... promising future ahead.

As Sixer fan, who do you think they are taking? If Simmons, then what about all the other bigs on the team? Do they trade one of them?
All the talk in Philly is Simmons will be their Magic Johnson. Defending 4s but running the point on offense.
I am not in tune with college basketball enough to really have an opinion one way or the other on that.
I just hope we don't draft somebody white.
Disagree. Hinkie was masterful at acquiring assets and putting this team in a position to actually build a contender. The new regime is talking veteran additions simply to improve the won/loss record and get them back to where Doug Collins left them. A who gives a bleep 7th or 8th seed who can't contend for anything and also can't do anything about it because their draft pick is too low. This is what Sam blew up in order to give the team a chance to build a title contender.
We have the 1st pick because of Sam Hinkie. We have Imbiid because of Sam Hinkie. We have several options in next year's draft because of Sam Hinkie.
That was a monumental mistake by a front office that lost it's patience.
Lakers fan here. Lakers will take either Simmons or Ingram. Why trade down and get a lesser player? Myself want Ingram.
Being widely reported that the Lakers are entertaining offers for the 2nd pick. Who knows what they end up doing but I can see no reason why the Lakers would be making this known if they weren't interested in listening.
