That's why if you're an NBA fan you've got to be a basketball fan first. I've spent entire decades watching the NBA while my Nets lost over and over again, except for the brief spell they had Jason Kidd in his prime. But I can do it because I love the league and the sport first and foremost.
In the NFL or MLB it's different for me. It's either watch my team or don't watch at all (I realize the NFL is not like that for many, but it's like that for me).

the NBA sucks as a whole because there are too many crap teams, too many players well below the curve of the top 10-15 players in the league. i wish the league would contract to 18-20 teams, then there would be more talented teams at the bottom and a better overall product. guys like scalibrine, bonner, and mark madsen should NEVER be able to make it this far!
you can get rid of the bobcats, bucks, hawks, grizzlies, etc and just have the big market or traditional powers. hell, even the heat should be contracted, they have 3 huge starts, just won a title, and they STILL couldnt sell enough tickets to make the team profitable? thats just insane, miami doesnt deserve a team! look at the dolphin's games! once the heat go back to the pre wade sucking, there will be no fans again.
