Why? We are the team that beat them at their place. Beat them by 10 points with Bynum out and Kobe had the flu. Blew them out by 17 when they played in LA.

Only thing that can stop LA is injuries.

regular season doesnt matter, the spurs had lost twice to the cavs in 07 and swept them. the cavs are an incredibly good team at home, i dont think the lakers can beat them there in a finals matchup. dont forget also that lebron usually tears it up against the lakers for whatever reason. id take the cavs over the lakers with home court. id say the team with home court would win that series.

Would have been LA if Bynum were healthy.

This LA team is better than last years, and Boston is missing their 2 key bench players in Posey and Brown. There is a reason LA got crushed in 2 regualr season meetings last season and won both against them this season. LA got better, and Boston got worse.

you dont know that, its like me telling you that the spurs would have beat the lakers last year with ginobili healthy or that the spurs would have beat the lakers in 2000 if duncan wasnt out for the playoffs. its neither here nor there, it didnt happen so there is no point in discussing it

You've still got Duncan, Parker and Pop. The Spurs are banged up (Timmy's knees have been causing him trouble in the season's second half) but I wouldn't bet against the Spurs making it out of the second round.

As for making it past the second round, well, we'll see.

GO MAVS, BEAT THE ROCKETS!! (i never thought id say that)

Go Spurs, Beat the Hornets!

Hey, we can cheer for each other. For one night, only...

You get the division title, we get the 6th seed, and I think we probably end up seeing each other in round one. Should be a good series!

Oh, and how ironic it was that Michael Finley hit the three to send that game into OT.

I think this is probably the best matchup for the Mavs. Having said that, it is still going to be a major uphill climb. They do not have an answer for Tony Parker; he's going to avg 30 ppg and 8 or 9 ast in this series. Duncan is hobbled but that's never stopped him before in the playoffs. And SA has homecourt; the Mavs are great at home, but they're just as terrible on the road and they're going to have to play at least three and maybe four games on the road to pull this off. They may not fear SA, but that doesn't make the task of playing there any easier.

On the flip side, now that Bowen has aged the Spurs really don't have an answer for Dirk, either. If Josh Howard is able to hustle and drive on his ankle, Terry and Dirk can get hot, and Kidd/JJ/JET play some semblance of defense on Parker, then they have a shot. Otherwise, the Spurs will once again make it out of the first round to play Denver or New Orleans.

By the way, it's hard for me to hate on Tony Parker right now. As long as Kevin Durant doesn't play the rest of the game, I should clinch the championship on my fantasy league tonight.

:D

Good one. Now throw in a few "discombobulated" references and you've got it.

Sorry, Bonner is pretty bad, but the distinction of worst belongs to either Bill Wennington or Uwe Blab.

Bonner was the 16th pick of the 2nd round(45th overall) in his draft.

Wennington and Blab went 16th and 17th, respectively to the Mavericks in the first round of the 1985 draft.

Bonner averages 488 points a season, which is hardly a blip.

Wennington averaged 253 points a season over 13 seasons(15 years) while Blab played 5 years and averaged 101 points per season.

The Mavericks made some horrible draft picks in the 80s. It was quite comical. They also picked Detlef Schrempf 8th overall in that same 85 draft. He had a decent career, but really didn't do much in his 3 seasons in Dallas.

I know they won the first game last year and then lost to Detroit but I didn't think they would win that series because the playoffs was a new thing for this team. This year I think they can win the series over Orlando.

Sure it can, if the Bulls had won the game. ;)
