The Dallas Stars have their offices just down the road.
Not geographically but just the sheer size of the complex and all the amenities.

I went to St Edwards every year they were there. Really enjoyed it, hot as can be but those guys never let up. When someone started dragging tail Irvin was there to get them going.
Those were great times at St. Edwards practice field. I took my son there a couple times and went with a friend once. Also attended every day by myself on another week's vacation. You could see the players almost face to face at times and some of the action was only about 30 feet away. Jimmy Johnson's practices were really intense and the action was fast paced and tranferred quickly from one segment to another. On one drill, Eugene Lockhart hit a guy so hard he went up into the air about six feet off the ground and turned a flip. That was the hardest hit
I've ever seen so close up. Good times.
I remember being the most impressed by Erik Williams back in 1992 before he had made a name for himself.
Last I had heard, training camp would be split between Oxnard and Frisco in 2016-17. So this wouldn't be the last summer the team trains outside of Texas, but it may be the last time the entire camp is held outside of Texas.
I hope at least some of camp continues to be held in Oxnard, because it's a great place to watch a training camp.
I will have to do that. I'm based in Texas and New Mexico, but I always find myself in California in the summer every few years or so.Yes Percy - that is the plan. Jerry loves the California weather and the marketing of the Cowboys there. Try getting to a game in San Diego sometime - it's the best away game in the entire league and you will feel right at home with the other 45,000 Cowboy fans there.
