NBC booth crew discussing Bledsoe/Romo QB "controversy"

Well, I'll make this prediction: Tony Romo WILL START while Bill Parcells is the coach of the Dallas Cowboys. The writings on the wall. Whether that's this year or next, who knows.

Exactly, we all knew from the time we knew the Eagles would cut him that somehow, some way, Owens would be a Cowboy.

We did?
With Parcells as head coach and TOs history? I thought there was maybe a 50-50 chance but I never thought it was a given that TO would be in Dallas.
An uninjured Bledsoe has no chance of being unseated by Romo? Lets revisit this after he start taking sacks and the offense grinds to a halt because of it.
If its Parcell's last year, he isn't going to stand by and lose games with Bledsoe eating 4-5 sacks a game when he has a guy with some escapability on his bench.
Last year some folks on this board said Greg Ellis could never play LB in the 3-4.

With or without that conversation Peter King stated it was just his opinion... that nobody in the organization had given him the indication.

Which is a very good way to keep your friend and your source out of it, in case you ever want them to ever talk to you again.

I bash the media as much as anyone (justifiably so most of the time), but this isn't just some clown who is trying to make a name for himself. This is a guy who is still very highly respected in the NFL, and he has closer ties to this team that almost anyone else.

I have no idea if Romo will unseat Bledsoe. I like both of the players a lot. But I do think that where there is this much legitimate smoke, there could fire.

Hmm, I think I'll go with what Bill said when he flat out stated several times that Bledsoe would be the starter and there was no chance of a change there.

Well I have learned the following:

1) if Bill says nothing, then it means he agrees with whatever the media claims (as in because he didn't say he loved Owens like a son, it must mean that he never wanted him and now wants him cut).

2) If Bill says anything, then he really doesn't mean it, such if as he said Bledsoe is and will be his starter, he really means that Romo is the starter.

Also wanted to add that I think the Ray Lucas situation still haunts Bill. He has talked about it before. He went with the safe choice, and lost a Playoff bid when he would have gone further if he had picked the no name guy earlier. I've heard him talk at press conferences before how he regrets not changing QBs earlier and going with his gut.

Peter King may not be too far off. Parcells also spoke about progress stoppers. Drew over Tony is a progress stopper as there are others on the team, Davis / Colman over Pat Watkins.
