Chris Simms says the most relevant thing in that entire five-minute embedded video at the 1:37 mark:

He (Jerry Jones) would be better off if he just went out and said, "You know what? I do not like Jimmy Johnson. He's a jerk and I do not want him in the Ring of Honor."
That is something this decades long disgruntlement needs from the single individual making Dallas Cowboys Ring of Honor decisions: truth.

Jerry was the money man, but Jimmy was the brains of the operation. That alone should get Jimmy in. Jerry needs to stop being so prideful about it. They both needed one another to pull it off.

Jerry's been throwing money ever since, but with little reward of the coveted trophy. I bet as soon as Jimmy gets in the ROH, we win a SB.

He also said how petty he looks in this situation. Very sad, vindictive man.

It's not hard to understand the cowboys won 3 super bowls with Jimmys team and slowly died since he left. Believe it or not but our last best, real chance and closest we have gotten to winning was in 06 when we had a real HC who held the reins. Outside of that it has been an absolute circus around here.

They died pretty quick. The decision making was so horrendous, it didn't take long at all. Even a team that good couldn't withstand the stupidity.

Certainly. Good point but Jones' pettiness would not be anything new. HIs being petty does not move the needle now. It would not move the needle if he admitted why he is petty publicly.

What would be entirely new is a scenario where Jones publicly admits he is denying Johnson a privilege and condition outlined by Tex Schramm for choosing Ring of Honor inductees, which he constantly recites as a personal defense over and over again. And that public acknowledgment would not change anything for him. Jones would still be the only person making the decision. It would not sway public opinion that much of him as a person. That is why I believe Simms' opinion holds relevance.

Jerry has the power but he really isn’t wielding it. He may think he’s showing everyone who’s boss, but he’s really just cheapening or invalidating the ROH, and therefore hurting those already in it in my opinion.

Jimmy belongs in it, and if he were added to it, we’d be celebrating the other members as well. Now, the story isn’t about those great Cowboys and a chance to celebrate them along with Jimmy, it’s about Jerry’s vanity project which is the Cowboys.

Jimmy belongs in there next to Roger, and Lilly and all the others, but those great Cowboys deserve Jimmy in there right besides them too.

Jerry is in a long line of POSs and his bank account or power won’t change that.

Any of you setting the story straight better look at a corporate enforceable elements of law if there is actual considered recourse to comply with their own made up version of sanctioned rewards. A stadium promoted 'reward' belongs to the owner of that stadium/franchise. That is sanctioned by laws, not private appointed movement makers.

Jerry has stated that as to his decision, he has buried the hatchet as to blame that belongs in the past. That is honorable, but when and where is purely Jerrys, in the choosing of when that goes down. If under guise of being a fan one feels that he is above the principals of business, even if a sporting controlled governmental entity, had best find his place in schemes of things. Either that or get up well over a Billion Dollars and tempt Jerry and his family to sell the family business.

Jerry has also given to the City of Dallas, the NFL, and many years to the Salvation Army...I just don't think he is concerned about what others may claim as 'their' rights instead.

No matter how many degrading insults one throws towards Jerry or another fan...SO? Force the sale and justify yourself instead...nothing is involved that matters to what is valid. Not even pride and integrity of the Jones family, huh?

Jimmy left the Cowboys in 1994, yet some of you think the 21st Century is a time for a religious Crusade. I hardly think this vindcates a tip to the Vatican to excommunicate Jerry Jones.

That takes it back to a Hill Billy status once again...that isn't smart for any of the actual truths. Jimmy earned his firing and responsibility for how the team was changed from his part of the deals. He received in full contractual benefiting from the hiring and contractual obligations.
