NCAA Re-Alignment

The biggest changes that need to be made is #1 dump the BSC and #2 setup a football tournament. Until those are done all other changes don't matter.

All I know is if 6 teams come to the Pac, Arizona is never going to make it to the Rose Bowl.

At least you know U$C won't be in it for a couple of years. :laugh2:

Actually, of all the original Pac 10 teams, I think the Arizona schools have the most to gain by a Big 12/Pac 10 merger. I think that Arizona gets much better access to Texas recruits if this happens Hos. Could be a real good thing for the Az schools.

I would add no one starts the year ranked. Let 3 games go by before the rankings are announced.

Ask Nebraska how that worked out for them:)

Playing games in both California and Texas is definitely a good thing for any team overall.

The Pac-16 West is going to be a lot tougher than the overall Pac-10 was. If anything I think Arizona has a better shot now of keeping their own kids outta California.

If the Pac-16 keeps the majority of the top ranked Texas and California kids in the conference it will surpass the SEC as the best football conference in very short order.

As Texas Tech fans can tell getting players in the 50-100 range in Texas can mean you have recruited future NFLers. Brandon Williams was only a 2 star recruit and didn't make the top 100 in the state. Mike Crabtree was only 22nd in the state.

As a Longhorn alumnus, I would prefer to join the Big 10, which, more than any other conference, epitomizes college football, especially historically with Ohio State, Michigan, and its close ties to Notre Dame -- at least in my opinion.

Texas to the Big 10 has an epic feel to it. But, it most likely won't happen.

Wow, really? I feel just the opposite. I think the Big Ten is overrated, overhyped, very mediocre football.

And I'm a Nebraska fan.

Your assessment is very accurate. I was speaking in more of a historical context. I'm also very impressed by the Big 10's focus on academics.

However, it's all but official at this point -- Texas is going to the Pac 10.

On the upside, I'll be spending more time with Hos.:p:

I reported a rumor I heard about Texas A&M wanting to join the SEC, and it's true. The SEC has had talks with A&M.

The SEC will still be the best conference, bar none. It's funny how 4 straight national titles and dominating football sent the Pac Ten and Big Ten after Texas and Oklahoma and Nebraska (ect) and expansion.

Shame on the Big 12 for letting two inferior conferences destroy them. The Pac Ten's inferior complex due to the Big Ten is ridiculous.

The SEC will probably look to add some of these teams:

Florida State
Clemson
Virginia Tech
Georgia Tech
Virginia
Miami

I would love to see Texas A&M join the SEC, and I hope they come.

Arkansas has really benefited from being in the SEC, and they have been good for the league. They have not won the SEC, but they have played in SEC title game multiple times and produced two of the greatest RBs to ever play in the SEC. Plus, they were really strong in basketball in the 1990s and won the national title.

Trust me, Aggie fans.

You had much rather travel down to Auburn than go to California. The South is football, much like the state of Texas is football.

It's flat out crazy down here. You hear about LSU being so loud, and it is loud, but going to Auburn and to Tennessee at night is just crazy. If Texas will not play you anymore, LSU, Arkansas, Auburn, and Alabama will.

I hope the SEC adds Texas A&M. It's a good fit for both sides.

Then, I hope the SEC goes out and gets some of the teams listed above.

Clemson, Florida State, Miami, or Virginia Tech would be my candidates.

I really dig the idea of having 4 16-team conferences. Adding in some form of a playoff system would be nice too.

I really don't care much for all this moving around, personally.

Even as a Nebraska fan I'm just not a fan of this move. I grew up loving the Big 8 stuff and their rivalary with OU. I just don't care much for this.

I don't care as long as the OU, UT, Tech, & A&M rivalry stays together.

I dont give a rats about losing TT....I just want UT and A&M to stay together....I mean they just have to. Afterall, they are in each other's fight songs. Their rivalry has gone on for over a century. In Texas, you are either a Longhorn or an Aggie....unless you truly sell out and become a Sooner.

I do wish that the Pac 10 could have gotten Nebraska instead of TT. TT is a garbage. They were nothing until Leach. He brought them respectability, but he got himself fired. I think Tuberville was a good hire, but I dont know if he can be as successful, with as little as TT gets, as Leach was.

BTW, If I could make a 16 team dream conference

Texas
USC
Alabama
The U
Florida St.
LSU
Florida
TCU

Oklahoma
Tennessee
Oregon
Penn St.
Nebraska
Notre Dame
Ohio St.
Michigan

or

USC
Oregon
Texas
Oklahoma
TCU
Nebraska
LSU
Tennessee

The U
Florida
Florida St.
Alabama
Michigan
Penn St.
Ohio St.
Notre Dame

Alright, been doing some digging.

The SEC wants Texas A & M for sure, as we all know by now. I think the Aggies will bolt for the SEC and shock Texas and be of a great value to the SEC.

Rumor has it that the SEC has been secretly planning to counter the Big Ten and Pac Ten for months.

Florida State, West Virginia, and Clemson may be headed to the SEC. They are being very quiet while Miami and Virginia Tech recently came out and stated that they wanted to stay in the ACC.

It looks like the SEC wants to get Texas A & M first and go from there.
