Need a shakeup On Defense Vs Philly

Too much film out when Lee is out we struggle. Teams isolate Smith and he just doesn’t have the speed in open space. How do you counter that? You give the Eagles a look you haven’t played all season. Much like last year when we played the packers in GB. We showed them something they didn’t expect with 3 DL Lee and Durant was spying. It gave the packers fits.

So what would I do for this game? Well I’ve noticed wentz really loves throwing to the TE’s so I really think we should come out playing Dime in base:

DL:
Lawrence
Collins
Irving
Crawford

Then I’d go with Hitchens@ MLB
With Frazier down in the box with him watching the flats/run support.
I’d go with Scandrick and jones in the slot with jones taking Ertz.
Brown and Lewis playing the Outside and I’m playing Heath closer to the Box with Woods as single high. Lets Woods use his instincts and play the ball in the air.

My reasoning ? The eagles don’t really have a Dominant speed burner, Or run game. Yes they have weapons but they throw a lot of underneath and kill you with their TE’s. I think you have to try and smoother that with a flux of Safeties. I just hope Garrett has the ability to make a change and try something different.

I have to agree with you here. Having all those DBs gives us tons of speed, Wilson needs to come up big in this game.

If Heath isn’t there you swap Awuzie there. I have Frazier(because he has size and can tackle well) in the box with hitchens playing as a OLB/safety Hybrid. And I have jones on Ertz playing Woods in Heath’s place. On passing downs you swap Frazier with Awuzie for his speed and coverage skill. I really wish Garrett could just try something similar for a game. It could work for a game against a team that thinks they’ll know how we’re gonna lineup.

IMO we don't see Lee until 12/10 game vs Giants. Hopefully Durant at the Will can help keep things more stable versus having Smith out there.

I think he can do fine rushing the passer. He just can't play MLB where he has to read the offense and have to cover and have to make plays by changing directions. He isn't physically and mentally there yet. He is basically a rookie LB playing injured.

That sure seems like a lot of moving parts shifting around. Wouldn’t it be easier to activate Durant and put him at MLB, leaving everyone else where they’ve been playing, and playing well, prior to Lee’s injury? The top priority has to be getting Jaylon out of the middle, without playing musical chairs.

You put all those safeties in the LB spots and the Eagles are going to run Ajayi and Blount all over them. Our defense is go8ng to spend the whole day staring at 2nd and 4, instead of 2nd and 7 or 8. You gotta try Durant before you go complete nickel all the time.

The only disturbing about Smith play is the fact I don't see progress. He look like he there health wise but make bad decisions, over run plays or can't finish it. I remember Hitchens was good to go the later part of his rookie year. With Smith I see no progress.

Sit Taco the entire game and have him smoking cigarettes on the sideline the entire day. Chain Taco to the bench and make sure it's a strong chain and cemented into the ground really well. Hand cuff Jaylon to Taco (both hands).

Send Marinelli to Siberia for a brisk vacation. That should improve our odds dramatically. If you guys want to play Dez at linebacker to "get him going" fine, it can't be any worse than Jaylon has played the last few weeks.

On second thought chain Dez to Jaylon and Taco. That's a much better plan.
