Then we are decently set. Cut all 3 current backup qb. Trade or sign best one released. Also need another ol backup who can play center and guard. Make the moves jerry and dummy son. No more bs talking. ACTION!!!!

That first phrase is the #1 thing to do right now.

Well, like Stephen Jones always says, talent acquisition is a 365 day business.

He is putting in the time.

I think that it probably isn't going to matter about the backup qb. They need Dak to play all season to be a contender this year. They aren't going to get a backup qb this year that can lead them to the promise land. They may be able to get Dalton to come back in the future.

QB comes with a long learning curve. Even better players aren't going to play better without the offseason and camp the lesser players had. It's not like backup QBs get a lot of snaps once the season starts.

It seems everyone is so sure Dak's backup is going to be needed. I understand, better to have and not need than to need and not have. Before last season, Dak was considered a very durable QB, but now folks have it in their head that Dak is injury prone. I just don't get it. I think he is fine.

I don’t think durability is the question, you just need a safety net. You wear a seatbelt every time you get into a car but you don’t expect to have a head on collision every time. You need a viable backup in the NFL. It’s crazy Magic Mike is sitting in this position with these 3 backups. They’re barely practice squad players.

I think Gilbert and Steele will both be fine if they have to play in a real game. I’m always open to upgrades but watching other games both of those guys are as good if not better than 95% of the players that will be available. This is preseason. They don’t do much for game planning. They don’t slide protections or chip like they would in the real season. They don’t develop a game plan that fits what Gilbert does well etc.

he’s a project at best.
He is a wife beater, not a project. As a prospect he was fairly well rounded. If not for DV, he is probably a 2nd rounder. 3rd at the latest. He came into the NFL with enough in his tool chest to be an adequate swing T. However no camp means thats not likely to happen. From a football standpoint he is probably more of a high floor/low ceiling guy. Definitely not a project, but may not have the upside to be a top tier LT
