I mean this goes for any team out there. Show me a team who can lose their starting QB the whole year and go to a Super Bowl? That isn't the point of a backup QB. He's to have you tread water if your starter goes down for a little time. If you have to rely on your backup the entire season, you are usually going to fail.

But the 3 guys we have right now are not beating one team in this league. Dak goes down 2 games? We lost both. 3 games? We lose all 3. They are that bad. At least Dalton gave you a puncher's chance in some games. These have to be the worst collection of backups in the league. And the bad thing is, they were all here last year, all were terrible and we ran it back with them.

Philadelphia Eagles with Nick Foles vs. the New England Patriots. Perhaps Wentz wasn't gone the whole year, but it does get at your question.

And while they didn't make it to the SB, the 1991 Cowboys went 5-0 down the stretch to finish at 11-5 with Steve Buerlein filling in for an injured Troy Aikman. They won the WC game vs. the Bears before losing the divisional round at Detroit. No super bowl, but the point here is if you've got a good backup QB, losing your starter doesn't have to be as disastrous.

Any team that considers themselves as a playoff team, especially if their defense is any good, owes it to themselves and their fans to have a viable backup QB. It really isn't that hard. We've got Phillip Rivers sitting at home right now.

It seems everyone is so sure Dak's backup is going to be needed. I understand, better to have and not need than to need and not have. Before last season, Dak was considered a very durable QB, but now folks have it in their head that Dak is injury prone. I just don't get it. I think he is fine.
But Shefty said!

Some stats from last night's game. I went back and watched Steele a bit. He actually looked pretty good, especially considering he started pretty early in the game, so he actually was going against legit NFL players. Farniok was obviously in the 2nd half, but maybe there is something there.

Wentz was lost with what, 4 games remaining and they were already the 1 seed? And plus, Foles is a better QB than Wentz and the Eagles actually benefitted from that injury in the end. We lost Dak with about 11 or 12 games left. Look at GB when Rodgers went down. They went in the tank. Most teams will if that backup has to play a ton of time.

Then we are decently set. Cut all 3 current backup qb. Trade or sign best one released. Also need another ol backup who can play center and guard. Make the moves jerry and dummy son. No more bs talking. ACTION!!!!

No mo money.

You have your all generation QB.

You dont need any backups or high profile starters anymore.
