Need Honesty

Draft.

I will say this though, the draft is once a year, and a game is once a week. If one of my girlfriends has a problem with that, then I will replace her (yep I said that).

I can understand them being upset if its baseball or basketball where the games are all the time, but for football on the weekend, she better just get over that.

Draft happens 3 times a year. Dates happen any time of the year.

My wife made a huge spread last year and bought three different types of beer to accompany it. She also invited over half the neighborhood. No decision necessary.

Umm am I missing something? Last year I did both... went out to eat and watched the draft on my phone while eating

This used to be a problem.

After being married awhile, I was definitely in the camp of "you get me the rest of the year, please give me this."

Now, with DVR, it's no longer an issue.

If my wife and daughter want to go somewhere, great. I'll DVR, ignore all tvs and put myself in an information black hole, and watch it when I get home.

If they want to do their own thing or nothing, I'll be happy enjoying it live.

The new draft format sucks. I hate that the first round is one full day. 2nd and 3rd is a 2nd day, and the rest a 3rd day.

I liked the other format much better.

I start preparing my wife about a month before the draft by asking her about every other day, "what is happening in 30 days, 28 days, etc. Of course by now she says, " the draft"! She absolutely knows that NOTHING other than someone dying (and it depends who) I will be watching the draft. Now, even though she really doesn't care for football at all, she will ask me during the draft what is going on and who Dallas has picked. Then she will ask if they any good. I always say, " I sure hope so " otherwise it could be another long year.
She will then ask why I have to watch after Dallas picks. I look at her like she is from outer space and say, " the stupid Eagles or whoever" picks next". We hope they pick a bust!. She shakes her head and asks if I want something to eat? Good woman, 36 years worth... God I love the draft!!!!
