Need more Rod Smith

I get your schtick is being a smart ***, but since we aren't ridding of Dak Prescott, I'd would like to get enough weapons out there that can play to his limited game.

Getting a nice receiving threat out of the backfield helps.

Are you actually making the claim that Rod Smith is a "weapon"? You can't be serious.

Let me get this straight...you're claiming Rod Smith, (the guy who hauled in a whopping 9 catches in his 4 years at Ohio St and 21 through his first four years in the NFL), is suddenly Roger Craig? Take away that 81 yard TD last year and his totals are 20 catches for 131 yards. Talk about dynamic! Wow, what a difference maker.
Just to clue you in on something, we didn't draft Zeke so he can run routes, but, being the athlete that he is, its completely foolish to think he couldn't.

He can catch, but Linehan doesn't call a lot of swing passes or screens.

Is he banged up or something? I'm not entirely sure why he's not being used more. We can all sit around and talk about how good Zeke is as a runner and a blocker, but Zeke doesn't seem to be a great pass catcher. He's taken a couple screens to the house, but other than that, not much else.

Last year Rod Smith not only showed he can be an effective runner, but also a really good pass catcher. He was also showing this in the preseason as well.

I get Zeke is a 3 down back due to his blocking ability, but we have to find a way to get Smith in the game at some point - at the very least, so he can catch those dumpoffs that Dak loves. Getting 1 yard a catch from Zeke isn't going to cut it.

It sure appeared Zeke was used as a blocker in most passing situations. I saw him pick up a lot of blitzing linebackers. Hard to catch out in the flats when that's the case. Like Rod Smith as backup , but I'm pretty sure Zeke is better blocker and catcher.

Unfortunately I have read the entire thread. I, along with the others I'm sure, am still waiting for you to show us how Rod Smith is a better receiving option than Zeke. Take your time, I'll come back later and see what you got to support your ridiculous argument.

Again, where in Zeke's career has he shown he's a dynamic receiving threat outside of screens and dumpoffs? What are we basing this on? Not even in college was Zeke this.

He's not Barkley...
LOL. Yeah so far Elliotts NFL resume for pass catching looks much better than Barkleys. Just saying man.

How first Game only 15 carries to Zeke 2nd game better but really we have been throwing more then passing..until that changes there arent any extra carries except when Zeke asked for a blow..thats very Rare..be patient once the line gels and we get 8-9 man boxes loosened up more running will be available..right now I can see why we only have two backs and a FB..good call by the FO so far..

Barkley has played an entire 2 games in the NFL and is near the total of catches Zeke gets in a season....

He was also known to catch passes in college and do it well, which is why he was a top 5 pick. Zeke was picked due to his pure running talent.

How's the writing career going?

If you read the entire thread, which you didn't, you wouldn't have needed to ask the question. Don't play dumb and think you can get away with it. You'll get called out every time.

Almost as well as your attempt to make things personal every time i bring something up you dont like.

Yeah, I am.

Now make an argument. If not, get out.

Rod Smith's stats and playing time speak for themselves. If you want to make silly arguments like "rod smith is a playmaker", the burden of proof is on you. The guy wasn't even good enough to start in college.

Already addressed. Read back through the thread. Thanks for playing.
