Need to be patient with the defense

Only 3 starters from last year with an entire new coaching staff. It wasn’t pretty. It was ugly. Just like last year as soon as the opposition got the ball you knew it would lead to a TD. On offense there were too many dropped passes again and they couldn’t run the ball. And too many penalties all together. Fortunately it’s just game 1 and Parkers defense should get better.

You yahoo’s who have already given up? :lmao2:
Hey Rocky, don't let the door hit you in the behind on your way out of this site!

Who are the penalties on?

Why is this still an issue?

Schotty is changing things all right. Under his “leadership” we now can’t even beat the team that they have been beating up on for a decade.

Penalties, lack of looking prepared, flat, mental errors, this is ALL on the head coach.

I understand needing to be patient. Yes. Young defense. New coach, etc.

But the defense can’t be horrific while we are waiting. That’s not acceptable.

they should at least be making some plays and putting up a fight while we are being patient. There is no patient for horrific.
The WRs were WIDE open. It was unacceptable.

See his halftime interview? Smiling with his stupid aww shucks attitude. There is a reason no one else would hire him.

We have been getting better the last 30 years.

Patience is great if you need to clean up a few things. Last night was an Eberflus level performance though. We need a significant turn around within a week or else there is legitimate danger of starting 0-2 with both loses within the division and the schedule getting harder. Not over yet but This isn’t baseball or football where you have long seasons to get on track. An 0-3 1-4 type start destroys playoff odds.

I’d feel great about things if they did something well enough last night to show some sort of identity but they simply didn’t. They got beat physically. They didn’t rush the passer well. They didn’t cover well. They didn’t communicate well.

I thought a couple rookies flashed on an individual basis and gave me optimism but that’s about it. Was there anything this unit did well? Is there anything a single position group did well at overall? I need something to show me that teams have to do more than just double team #92 to make our defense horrid again.

Honestly the Eberflus era started out stronger than this. A year ago after opening night I understood having patience as that defense made adjustments and shut down Philly in the 2nd half. This years defense had no answers after taking jabs to the face all night.

That performance puts us very much in a must win game next week….patience is no longer allowed. Results are needed immediately.

Ive said repeatedly that this defense with new players and new scheme will take time to gel

Ive also said that the need to continue upgrading positions is ongoing.

The defense wasn't destroyed in one season and it wont be fixed in one season.

Anybody who blamed Uberpuss and ONLY Uberpuss want to come clean now?

Where were the magical adjustments made last night that Uberpuss was criticized for not making?.......and last night's roster was way better facing an offense that wasn't even ranked top 10 last season.

Cowboys defense dominating Rams. Their biggest play was a 12 yard out. This is great news that some won’t get it because many don’t think training camp and preseason counts. This scrimmage counted for a lot. The Cowboys showing that they aren’t the same defense as last year.

How the tune has changed in just a few weeks

You say it will take time to gel then you turnaround and blast them. Make up your mind.

I have a small screen but it appears we were whooped up the middle. Pure out muscled. Where we spent were money

I mean it should improve on defense considering EPA per drive wise we ranked 571 out of 574 games since 2025.
It was peak Matt Eberflus level bad. Only reason why they only scored 28 was because they were content killing clock to preserve the win.

The zone spacing last night was horrible. Saw a lot of confusion as well similarly to last season. Scary stuff folks.

Should we be patient with the offense too? I mean 10 years, do we need to wait a little longer to see a Dak offense play up to expectations? We are probably being too hard on him, expecting too much. Maybe in year 15 or 20?
To be fair, the offense only had the ball like twice in the second half and scored both drives.

Our defense couldn’t get off the field.

Giants OC (Ganty) took that 34 defense apart.

NY Ravens.

Rook DC vs Harbaugh.
