I don't know if it will fix your problem,,, but, I took my cat with me when I ran my 4x4 thru an automatic car wash, man! it was hilarious.
she was freaking out and totally flipped out when those vertical barrel brushes came down the sides,,,I haven't had the heart to stuff her in my shirt and rip down the road on my Harley yet(prolly cuz she'd shred me while bailing at 70mph)
But,YES the car wash adventure cooled her jets/tamed her out pretty good.

Water bottle with a small amount of vinegar. You won't be able to smell it, but the cat will stay away from what ever you spray

Thanks, man. Gonna try that product that TheCount recommends. Damaging my computers is like kicking me in the balls because I'm such a tech nerd.

With a chord you could just slather it with a taste a cat won't like such as hot sauce or lemon juice. And you can leave things nearby to play with.

Try a product like Bitter Orange on the cabling, maybe, see how that goes. Keep a squirt bottle at hand (though don't aim at your powerstrip, obviously).

The water gun works very well to deter cats in my household.

Ha ha, thanks. I got my new KVM switch to replace the one she wrecked and sprayed it and my other cords with this stuff that gives it a bitter taste that cats hate. I also bought her some play toys. So far so good.
