I'm always amazed at the nit picking.

Miami has the most sacks of any team the last few weeks. Obviously, that was their whole game plan. Do everything you can to get to Romo. The Cowboys controlled the clock, kept their D off the field, held Miami to 140 net yards passing and about 70 yards on the ground. The "awfully coached" Dline held the Fins to 1-10 on third down and only 9 first downs. The Cowboys had 22!

Miami couldn't stop McFadden when it counted at the end and they ran it down Miami's throat. I'll take that every day.

No actually aside from Romo this is a team that just went 0-7 in 7 games before today. And we lose this game going away with Cassell, due to our poor Oline play.

And before you ask what my point is, it's that our OL is not good right now. Primarily due to the OT's not taking care of business. And still way too many penalties.

But they just barely were losing those games. The defense held Tampa in check for 95% of the game. Tampa just put 45 points on a Philly team with their backup QB.

The interior OL seemed fine, Martin, Frederick, Collins. Why they kept running that stupid stretch play to the left that lost yards is beyond me. As soon as they went back to running it up the gut on that last drive they had great success.

Smith is a puzzle to me right now - he has some serious lapses in pass pro. Free is what he is.

As to the DL I was very discouraged about them for most of the game, however they tuned it up when it really counted late. Finally they got to play with a 2 score lead and go after it. I think they gained a lot of confidence from the finish and that should carry over.

What's it going to be then, eh?

OL is not playing well.whats up with Tyron getting beat by scrubs?

Vernon is not a scrub. That said Smith got worked over by a good, not great, player. He looked very sloppy with his hand placement and Vernon whipped him with speed right off the snap on several occasions.

Tyron seems to struggle with the smaller speed rushers IMO. He looked the same against Philly.

Everytime I see Tyron whiff it looks like he was getting fooled into thinking it was a bull rush, sets hard, and the defender stops short and then bends/rushes right around him. Maybe there's something on tape, a "tell" in a DE that Tyron thinks is for a bullrush, so he's getting faked out.

The reason why they were in the backfield was the playcalling. The Dolphins were cheating towards Tyron and the blockers, like Fred, Martin or Free, couldn't reach them because they were not in position to do so. But, we kept running that stupid play.

The pass protection was fine outside of Free who got beat by speed rushes. The only thing that concerns me about the O-Line is Tyron got beat again with poor hand placement.

YR

Agree. When the other team knows your tendency they line up for it, and at least to me send some speed rushers there to get by the brute strength capability of Tyron....

I don't but this. What, did they just forget everything they learned when he left?

I don't know. Dallas is 8th in rushing right now. Washington is 25th. I know it's not that simple, but I don't really see that far of a fall off. I see us creating holes at times, and getting beat at times. I see us providing the QB plenty of time on some plays, and getting beat at others. Maybe not quite as good as last year, but I honestly thought they were a bit overrated last year. Sure, they dominated at times, and at other times they didn't.
