If we stay at the 5th seed then we must go to Tampa and face the GOAT. Even with Tampa down this year the QB we have never beat has shown some sparks of greatness down the stretch.

And if Egirls lose , assuming Whiners don’t lose then we’d end up with 2nd seed and most likely face the Packers and Rodgers at home . Another matchup we’d rather not see even with GB down this year but playing well down the stretch.

Reaching the #1 seed is least likely scenario . We’d need the current top seeds to both lose today.

My hunch is both current top seeds win today. And Packers fill #7 seed with with only change in current standings .

GB goes to SF
NY at Minn
Dall at Tampa

Dallas' path to the super bowl would likely be
at Tampa
at Philly (with them having a week to rest and prepare)
at SF

That's pretty brutal. This is why the 1 seed matters.
Backs against the wall again and again. Like all year really. Very unfair. But we are battle tested. Unlike the Eagles.

If we get beat round 1, MM is toast. Unfair really but its reality. DQ will be the next HC.

If GB gets in and Dallas goes to Tampa, I see a clean sweep by NFC Wildcard teams. The Giants beat Minny. Rodgers beats Purdy. The Cowboys finally get Brady.
Would set up a juicy divisional rematch at AT&T, 16 years in the making.

This is a real possibility.

I had picked SF to win NFC but never count out the heart of a champion.

Surely our 1st back to back playoff appearances since 2007 secures his job not to mention first back to back 12 win seasons since the 90’s.

Especially in a season most felt it was more of a retooling year.
Under normal circumstances, yes. But DQ is on the verge of leaving and Sean Payton is available as well. Jerry has said many times that he's nearly out of time. I can see a surprise firing of MM or even MM stepping down due to stress of the job. BTW, Sean McVay MIGHT be available soon if he quits. Jerry might be very tempted.,McVay is a star. A generational HC. If he becomes available don't we HAVE to take a look?

First of all I don’t think Peyton will be available . And not sure either Sean’s would be interested in this puppetry position unless no other offers come available.

I’d argue what MM has done is enough to continue on. And he stays perfectly in line with our dysfunctional ownership ways which is a huge part of the equation here.
