Losses have consequences. Should have beat GB. Should have beat Jacksonville.
They lost to likely FOUR playoff teams.

How does SF feel losing the 1 seed with losses to Chicago, Denver and Atlanta

What frustrates me is that we were up 14 on GB and 17 on Jax. I get it, they're both playoff teams (likely). But being in a position to win and not closing is what makes them tougher pills to swallow.
We been this way for 26 years off and on.

I can’t imagine a scenario where it’s advantageous to play a playoff game on the road versus at home .

Fans also need to remember, if we go to TB for the playoff game, it will be our 3rd road game in a row.
Not easy to do.
Yes it is the playoffs, and a different setting and atmosphere. However it is still there.

I guess I tricked myself into thinking this year would be different for some reason. Still hope it is, but the path to the Super Bowl is BRUTAL.
Exactly and the schedule as well. The mere fact we might get 13 wins under the brutal circumstances and schedule we had is amazing actually.

I know this much, the players adore coach MM and DQ. Is that enough to keep them here? Save their jobs?

It absolutely is. And we could've had 15 wins easily. This team is good enough to make a deep playoff run IMO.

If we can't beat Tampa then this team has many, many problems...Tampa is not a good team and Brady is inconsistent more than ever...Slow the run and limit Evans on D. On offence use Pollard as the main offensive weapon out of the backfield, target Lamb and Hilton and don't turn the ball over...

If we stay at the 5th seed then we must go to Tampa and face the GOAT. Even with Tampa down this year the QB we have never beat has shown some sparks of greatness down the stretch.

And if Egirls lose , assuming Whiners don’t lose then we’d end up with 2nd seed and most likely face the Packers and Rodgers at home . Another matchup we’d rather not see even with GB down this year but playing well down the stretch.

Reaching the #1 seed is least likely scenario . We’d need the current top seeds to both lose today.

My hunch is both current top seeds win today. And Packers fill #7 seed with with only change in current standings .

GB goes to SF
NY at Minn
Fall at Tampa
Completely disagree. I want both or either. If we can't beat them, then we weren't good enough anyway.

I simply cannot/refuse to hope for weaker opponents. I want to play the best and knock their peepees in the dirt.

True but SF had a bunch of injuries and a pretty up and down start. That’s crazy they lost to those teams though.

Great point. We have had just a brutal schedule all year. Deck has been stacked against us from the start. To get 12 wins in that scenario is an achievement in itself when u consider the injuries we had.

If GB gets in and Dallas goes to Tampa, I see a clean sweep by NFC Wildcard teams. The Giants beat Minny. Rodgers beats Purdy. The Cowboys finally get Brady.
No way, Rodgers ain't beatin' Purdy.

If the Cowboys truly deserve to be in the Super Bowl this season then it shouldn't matter who they play.

A true champion isn't afraid to play anyone.

If the Cowboys are that team then it will be very satisfying to watch them .make Brady look old and tired, then jump all over the 49ers and their rookie quarterback while finally settling the question as to what happens when the Cowboys and Eagles both have their starting QB's.

We will know what kind of team the Cowboys have in their first playoff game drive. Look for a team with the right level of intensity and focus.

Perhaps hard to believe, but there are good football teams in both conferences.

Even harder to believe, you have to play your best each and every game and hope the same isn't said of your opponent if you want to win the Super Bowl. When you assume you're a superior team and don't play like it, generally that's when you lose.

Pretty much the same thing plasticman said a moment earlier LOL
