Just binge watched this over the weekend and best show I've seen in years. Really appreciate that they went with subtitles and authentic/regional Spanish. Would have totally undercut the authenticity and atmosphere. The one thing that seemed "off" was to have a DEA agent in Columbia who didn't speak Spanish. I think it was done by producers/director to bring some relief to exclusively English speaking audiences of a show that is 100% subtitled which was a brilliant move on their part. US Americans do tend to shy away from subtitled or foreign productions so it was a smart move on their part to bring in some of those viewers (myself in included with some rare exceptions like City of God---Brazilian Portuguese but great film). Great show; cold, accurate, twists left and right, and gritty. Shows Escobar as both a no nonsense drug lord, but also his vulnerable states related portions to his family and his fragile ego.
Highly recommended
