Marvel's Jessica Jones on Netflix Nov. 20

Storyline
Ever since her short-lived stint as a Super Hero ended in tragedy, Jessica Jones has been rebuilding her personal life and career as a hot-tempered, sardonic private detective in Hell's Kitchen, New York City. Plagued by self-loathing, and a wicked case of PTSD, Jessica battles demons from within and without, using her extraordinary abilities as an unlikely champion for those in need... especially if they're willing to cut her a check.

Glad to see there are a few other fans around here. I got Netflix earlier this year after hearing all about everyone raving about it and I see why - lots of great content, and NO COMMERCIALS.
Narcos is a legit show. It's no Breaking Bad but it cures my itch.

You should check out Mr. Robot.

Just finished watching it last night. I really liked it at first, but seemed to level off about halfway through the season.

Can't wait for season 2

me neither, I thought this was just going to be a one season mine series, I'm surprised they're stretching it out to multiple seasons, it doesn't seem like the story can go for very many seasons considering its based on Escobars life and we already know how it ends. I guess they could resume the story after Escobar dies and make the story about whatever happened after his demise. Come to think of it, that would be interesting to know what happened since I'm sure the cartels are still going strong

Just want to reiterate how good the show I mentioned in the post above is. If you like the Pablo Escobar story, you should really like this show.

At first I thought the production quality wasn't very good but whether they meant to or not it really feels like its shot in the 80's when the story takes place, its all subtitles and is more detailed than Narcos, I'm hooked. I'm 14 episodes in and cant believe there are 60 more to go

Just binge watched this over the weekend and best show I've seen in years. Really appreciate that they went with subtitles and authentic/regional Spanish. Would have totally undercut the authenticity and atmosphere. The one thing that seemed "off" was to have a DEA agent in Columbia who didn't speak Spanish. I think it was done by producers/director to bring some relief to exclusively English speaking audiences of a show that is 100% subtitled which was a brilliant move on their part. US Americans do tend to shy away from subtitled or foreign productions so it was a smart move on their part to bring in some of those viewers (myself in included with some rare exceptions like City of God---Brazilian Portuguese but great film). Great show; cold, accurate, twists left and right, and gritty. Shows Escobar as both a no nonsense drug lord, but also his vulnerable states related portions to his family and his fragile ego.

Highly recommended

Thanks for info, definitely will check it out too

If you're interested in the Pablo story, you'll like it, its very thorough and blends in actual video from the time into the story

The production is a little cheesy but so were the 80's so it doesn't take away from my enjoyment. I'm 50 episodes in and there are still 20+ to go, wish I could say the same thing about The Walking Dead (re: the number of episodes, I love that show).

Its been a nice distraction from this depressing Cowboy season

Hear you on distracting myself with shows, vgames, etc. until the team can pull its head out of their *** (Qbs/Beasley mainly). Will move on to your recommendation next for my binges. Watched Blacklist season 1 but don't like season 2 so gave up there. Not too big on TV dramas but Narcos surprised me. Thanks again for info!

Haha, naw but never really gave them a chance either tbh. The few TV dramas I've been into were the old X-Files, The Wire, and Sopranos. Enjoy off beat comedies more so but know those shows you mentioned are of high critical/viewer acclaim.

You should give The Walking Dead a shot. I saw a random episode a year or more ago and came into it in the middle of a bunch of zombies attacking and being killed and I was like whatever and changed the channel, Ive never been into zombie movies and just figured it was a tv series like the movies Ive seen and didn't like.

About a month ago, I stumbled across episode 1 of season 1 and started watching for some reason and got pulled in immediately, by episode 2, I was hooked and was wondering what the heck I was thinking when I gave up on it so quickly. The story line, the characters, the survival aspect really sucked me in and I binge watched all 5 seasons and now Im going through withdrawals because I now have to wait each new episode to dribble out once a week.
