Devin Harris AND Favors AND two 1st rounders for a point guard?
Utah now has the pieces to become relevant again. I wonder if this brings Jerry Sloan out of retirement.

First thing I would do if I owned the Nets, fire Avery Johnson. While the guy has a ton of basketball knowledge, he is a train-wreck in player management and doesn't seem to learn from some of his mistakes. It is almost like he has tunnel vision.

Please. They're the 6th best team in the East, IF that.
MC KAos;3854840 said:please tell me where i said they are better than those teams. all i said is that giving up a very poor mans tony parker, a project power forward and 2 picks (1 in a terrible draft we are about to have) is well worth getting a guy widely regarded as the best point guard in the league! a guy that, unlike steve nash or CP3, can play lock down defense and you dont have to hide on that end of the floor. it sucks that they gave up favors, but he couldnt be the next kwame brown as much as he could be the next chris bosh. what i wanna know is if melo would have signed with the nets in the offseason if he hadnt been traded.

casmith07;3854845 said:I'm just asking you a question - at no point did I say that you said any of that, however, implying that it's a "great trade" for "possibly the best point guard in the league" generally implies that you think it improves this team. I think what they gave away in the deal breaks them for the next 4 to 5 seasons.
All I'm asking you is if you think the Nets are now on the same level as the Heat, Celtics, Magic, Knicks, or Bulls. I don't think they're even close. And Derrick Rose would have words with you.
