Before you read my Mock you need to be in the proper frame of mind for the title. Therefore you should listen to this Rob Zombie song before reading it.

Yeah, my durango number 95 thousand

Dallas trades up to # 6 giving up #71.

#6. Patrick Peterson, CB, LSU, 6'0", 219. From day 1 the starting LCB. I believe he will be the best CB in the NFL and fast. He is a physical specimen the likes of which other teams will drool.

Dallas trades pick #40 and next year's 1st round pick for pick #12 from the Vikings.

#12. Tyron Smith, OT, USC, 6'5", 310.
From day 1 the starting RT on this team and a prized bull. Immediately helps the run and passing games and youth movement.

#110. Kendrick Ellis, NT, Hampton, 6'5", 350. If we do ever move Ratliff to DE, he and Brent are more than adequate in the middle.

#143. Henry Hynoski, FB, Pittsburgh, 6'2", 255.
Starts from day 1 and immediately makes the short game vital again.

#176. Noel Devine, RB/KR/PR, West Virginia, 5'7", 175. He's the 3rd string RB and the 1st string return guy. A great weapon to have on any team.

#220. Ahmad Black, SS, Florida, 5'10" 185. His small size and slow 40 push him way down. I take a chance on this kid because he finds the football and he plays the game. He doesn't measure up, except during games, then he excels.

#252. Thomas Claiborne, OG, Boston College, 6'3", 325.
I am sold on BC o-linemen. He is a two time all ACC guard, yet he isn't projected that high. Worth the risk.

Okay, you can bash me all you want for this one. Call me a greedy draft *****, say it will never happen, and all that jazz. But if you hate this one, you're high.

Scream if you want it, cause it want it more.

Are the Vikings rolling the dice on us being terrible this year?

Hos your gonna go crazy waiting the next 24 days:D

They're rolling the dice that they will be and can use our pick to get up for Luck next year.

Would a 1st next year..which really equals a 2nd this year be enough to jump from 40 to 12? I don't think so..I'd do it in a heart beat though

Get me a pen and I'll sign off on that one. I believe that Peterson and Smith are two of the best players in this draft, and I'd be willing to give up a lot to get them.

Matt Barkley is a guy to watch out for too. He may end up passing Luck on the draft board.

teams have been warned to trade next years picks at their peril i think i read but oither than that PP and TS yes please

I'm not going to say no way, even though I want to...because it just happened to Locker..but I haven't seen anything from Barkley to imagine him going first overall

nm.....trying to get link to work

Would You Trade Next Year's No. 1 Pick?

I've been thinking about first-round trade scenarios for the Cowboys here for a while now, some more than others, but there's one possibility that hasn't yet been kicked around which may be in play.

What about trading next year's first-rounder (and some more stuff) to get a second selection in Round 1? If the Cowboys are serious about quickly becoming contenders again, adding the talent of two first-round picks immediately would be better than one, right?

The Cowboys have give up top picks in trades for veterans before, like Roy Williams and Joey Galloway. Neither of those worked out very well, but that's no reason to be gun-shy about moving up to pick a falling player the team really likes.

What if someone like Tyron Smith or Cameron Jordan fell into the 20s? Stranger things have happened in the draft.

To get a deal done, the Cowboys might only have to agree to swap picks with a team picking late in the second round, in addition to giving them next year's first, with maybe a late-rounder tossed in for their partner's trouble.

It might make sense to the guys in the Cowboys war room, especially considering that if everything works as planned, next year's No. 1 would be late anyway.

I could live with those 2 players alone if I had to. Well, and the 252 pick since you can't trade Comp picks.

I would love this to happen. I would do a Mike Ditka and trade the rest of our draft for those two players except for the comp pick.

I like it. Smith and Peterson are my 2 favorite players in the draft. Make it happen. You gonna be in the war room, Hostile?

Tough to complain about a mock that has us coming away with Peterson AND Smith! The rest is pretty great too.

Never thought I'd see a Rob Zombie reference here! Pretty cool. I've seen him perform a bunch of times and even met him once. Smart guy who has a good sense of humor. How can you not like a guy who has written songs like "Grease Paint and Monkey Brains", "Living Dead Girl" and "El Phantasmo and the Chicken-Run Blast-O-Rama"?!
