Never Satisfied

Been a fan since 1977, I can’t ever remember feeling this down about a 37-18 win. I think it’s the realization the team just isn’t very good but somehow the Giants are way worse . If we play like that versus Vikings, Bills , Patriots we will be crushed.

Methinks the Cowboys of today might have a puncher’s chance against the Pats or Packers of yesterday...

No one’s saying you have to be excited about beating a terrible team. That’s an overreaction. However, it’s ALSO an overreaction to be embarrassed or sad or scared after beating a division rival by 19 on the road. These are all professional teams that are highly competitive and compensated, playing a game controlled by a long list of variables, and governed by ever changing rules of a speculative and interperative nature. Predictable outcomes, or even controllable trends, are an exercise in futility. Kinda wishful thinking.
I’m not emotional, sad or scared...just not that impressed, if at all.

I wouldn’t call it whining, I call it calling it how it is. We beat one of the worst teams in the league, it’s that simple. The people who get mentally high off these types of wins are the same ones who say the season is over and everyone sucks the first time we lose to a decent team. Trying taking it for what it is, a win over a horrible team that we should have dominated all 4 quarters.

Personally, I was a bit disappointed and although I still believe this team has a lot of potential I want to see it against better teams. Hell, looking at the schedule before the season started almost every single one of us picked the Cowboys over the Giants both times and now it’s supposed to be a big deal, especially when the Giants may end up being worse than last year?

It’s not being negative or whining, it’s being real. That would be like me telling someone not to be excited over beating the Saints or Packers. Beat one of the best teams in the league and I’ll be excited, beat one of the worst teams in the league (we’ve beat 4 of the worst and lost to one) and I’m meh.

You play who's on your schedule. The Cowboys did not choose the bad teams. Any win should be celebrated.

Some of us would like to see some wins in January ,

I think we'd all like to see that again.

But if you're going to be miserable all during the season, even after wins, it doesn't sound like much fun being a fan. Not saying you are in particular, but we clearly have folks who could watch a 40-3 win and be upset that it wasn't 50-0. I think life is too short to live it that way, but that's just me.

The problem I have with some of this .. is that if they win most act like they can’t be beat .. “oh the defense is back”... if they lose .. everyone should be fired and they won’t win another game .. they are a good team . They can beat the bottom feeders and every now and then jump up and beat a good team . But this team has no chance in the playoffs when they have to face good well coached teams...

We have a lot of cleaning up to do. I see a playoff team for sure but if the end game is the SB which it should be....right now as we speak I do not see it. Still have a lot of season to get where we need to be. You could say that it is better not to peak too soon.

I’ll be the first one to agree—they started out slow, they DO have areas of concern, and fans are right to be tired of “sweating it out” against teams with less talent, but can we EVER enjoy a win as a fanbase?

We beat a division rival by 19 on the road, and all the pundits are saying is they don’t trust Dallas to win the East and/or we beat the Giants because of a cat.
Yes, we can enjoy a win. That victory over the Eagles was extremely satisfying. However, don't expect me to ignore the first half of Monday night's game against the Giants just because they finally pulled their collective heads out of their collective butts in the second half. They are just coming off a bye week and should have had the start of that game well scripted and executed. That should be your best football just because you've had so much time to plan it out and practice it. It's an indictment on the coaching that after a bye week, the Cowboys put a crappy product like that on the field in the first half. If I'm wrong, please tell me why.

Loved getting the W but the delusion that we are better than our record is being peddled by some here. This week we will see more, "Dak Appreciation" threads and other such nonsense for a guy that threw for 250 against a garbage defense. You would have thought they learned their lessons after getting spanked down by the Saints, Jets and Packers, ( teams not in the bottom 8 of NFL defenses).

The overcompensation and delusional threads about Rayne are fine.......just dont expect us not to call them out for what they are

Giants fans see me rollin’...

This team can't get out of their own way with all these mistakes game after game. A playoff/disciplined team would never allow you to get back into the game. They would dominate on ever simple mistake.

This team has no discipline with committing personal fouls after personal fouls. Do you believe Jimmy Johnson or Bill Parcells would tolerate these stupid penalties?

This team will not get too far in the playoffs playing the way they have all year. Not playing a full 60 minutes will get you an early exit in the playoffs. Just my two cents.

Who’s not enjoying the win?

It was great how we came back on the road at a divisional rival. We’re still in 1st place . The season is still on!! Cheer!!

But there are some concerns which need to be addressed putting ourselves in a hole . This is a trend this year and fortunately we weren’t playing one of the upper echelon teams last nite.

As Dak said after the game” we need to get out of our own way”.

And we need to be more consistent sustaining drives and minimize turnovers. We’ll need to start out faster Sun night against the Vikings.

We can enjoy the win but I certainly didn’t come away with a lot of confidence heading into our toughest stretch of games this season.

Dallas won. The defense created the turnovers that we've been begging for since week 1. The d-line had constant pressure which led to QB hits, knockdowns & sacks. Zeke was a dang wrecking ball. I could care less if they won by 40 or by 1. On to the Vikings!

Signed,

Happy Cowboy Fan

If we do not at least make the NFC Championship game this year, it's time to clean house....sort of. The FO should one Fire Jason Garrett (no surprise there I'm sure) and then two trade Dak Prescott. Dak is a soldier, and a good QB but he lacks two KEY components to be a great QB in the NFL. He is still inaccurate, off the top I can think of INT's he threw against WAS, GB, and NO that a fourth year QB should not be making (I'll add the one from last night against the NYG as well). And unless you're Skip Bayless those INT's where his fault. He also lacks pocket awareness, he simply takes too many unnecessary sacks. I like the guy but unless we make it deep in the OFF's I think he reached his ceiling. So again, we trade Dak. We should trade him to the Dolphins for a First Rounder (maybe some other picks as well but a First is a must.) The the Cowboys should draft Jalen Hurts, and hire Lincoln Riley as the new HC. We'll have Jalen on a rookie deal, the FO can give deals to players like LVE, and Cooper now that Dak is off the books. They'll be able to afford Jamal Adams as well. I know how big you guys are on DT's so if it's a stud on the market for the right price in the off-season sign him as well. Or address the need in the draft, but remember the Foreskins (Commanders) have a couple first rounders on there Dline, from Alabama, and they are ranked 20th this year in total defense. Just remember that for those of you ramping and raving about about beefing up the DT position. It's time to cut ties with Sean Lee as well. Which is more money off the books. He's healthy now, and playing well but only because he does not have to take as many reps as he once did. If we had to rely on him for 16 games, I think we all know the end results. Fire Marinelli as well, and make Kris Richard the new DC. So now we have The HC Lincoln, OC Moore, and the DC Richard. I like the that trio coming together and building the rest of the coaching staff together. Whether they choose to promote within the organization or else where. It's a copy cat league, we know we aren't getting old heads like Bellichick or Payton as the HC so it's time to go young like the Rams, Greenbay, 49ers, Lions and Bills. I know that formula hasn't worked out so far for teams like the Bears, Jets, and Browns but those teams aren't nearly as talented as we are. Jalen hurts with our oline, and RB he can lean on like Zeke plus the weapons on the outside? I like our chances. I mean what do we have to lose, especially if we already know what we have in Dak?! IF Dak was really that guy the FO would've been paid him whatever he wants. And if Dak is not willing to take a team friendly deal, so we can afford other play makers AND is underachieving that's even more of reason to cut ties with him. Thanks For Reading. #DC4L :star:

Define spanked down.

+17 =no spankdown

-2
-10

Spankdown. I got it. Thanks.

Zeke non fumble called correctly. We win
Witten td not called back for non pick we win.
Green Bay only gets 5 very bad calls instead of 8. Or only gets 6 timeouts instead of 11. We win
