New D coordinator

Party pooper. You're ruining the fun.

Well, if Garrett goes, we'll get to change *everybody,* so that will be fun.

There's a good chance Garrett goes, too. This week will tell us a lot about his future in Dallas. You know Jerry wants to keep him, and everybody knows I'm a fan of the consistency and approach he's had in Dallas, but there comes a point where the blowout losses become a thing of their own, and once that thing turns a team upside down, there's no surviving it. Another blowout that actually effectively eliminates the team at the same time, and the players might pack it in on the staff and make the decision for Jerry.

Unless we lose out, JG isn't going anywhere unfortunately. Even if we get spanked by the Deadskins and Geno Smith led Gints.

I see he's really thought this out.
No. Not really, as you gathered. I should have posed the question to all the experts out there. I can get lazy sometimes...ha.

I just want a new guy in there with NFL defensive coordinator/coaching experience.

And if I'm not mistaken he had ties to Dallas at one time. And I know he was being considered to take over the defense before Marinelli got here.

He is certainly respected in NFL circles. I read it on the internet. It has to be true.

No, please No---no stay
I do not think the coordinators are leaving nor Garrett.

Garrett was Coach of the year last year.

Jerrah went into the HofF.

Martinelli and Linehan are former HCs.

They have to do what they are paid for.

They have to step it up.

They have been outcoached.

Of course it's real.

Now follow my watch swinging.

Count with me..

By the time I get to 10 you are going to feel light as a feather..

your frustrations are going to melt away..

Jerrah is going to read your post..

he's going to click 'like' on your post..

and you will feel relieved and unfettered.

And here is a Rum Coke and a Melonball shooter backup in case it does not work.

No more 3-4 / 4-3 scheme changes. There are as many top notch 4-3 coordinators as 3-4 coordinators.

A 3-4 defense goes to a 4-man line in obvious passing situations anyway.
I mean we have so much promise in the players we have, why change schemes... right?

Ok cool.

Getting a like from Jerry would be the greatest thing ever.

Wait a second. Let me think about that one...

Bowles deserves coach of the year for the year the Jets have had! He's not going anywhere IMO.

He is not available and when he was he wasn't good enough for Jerry and/or Garrett.

Rob frigging Ryan and Monte Kiffen on the other hand.

if changes are made this year we will probably get campo back or an intern from the accounting department in Tampa Bay where garrett coached for a year.

Will McClay talked at length on day 3 of the draft how it took them longer than they wanted to get players for marinelli's defense and that they needed to understand what types he wanted exactly.

so now after apparently finally getting it right they are going to fire the guy and install a new scheme? I doubt it. It will be marinelli or eberflus next year and we all probably know that deep down. Its the comfortable move.

Our coordinators presided over the record setting 0-16 Detroit Lions.

Just thought I’d toss that one out there...

I know you are a huge fan but sometimes your pessimism provides quite the counterpoint.

Jerry needs to hire that guy who took Fredo out fishing. ( Al Neri)

This is a real possibility. If/when the players quit its over for Garrett. It felt like they quit in the last couple of games.

I still believe Marinelli gets the boot if the defense continues down this path.

One of these guys is gone. 2 out of the last 3 years this team has crapped the bed because they couldn’t handle adversity that other teams seem to overcome.

I know we don’t have the greatest depth but these coaches have proven during this timeframe to fall woefully short of expectations.

I don't think that would be horrible. But shouldn't next HC make this call?

no who was the last headcoach that could make decisions about his coaches without the jones input. even parcells had to get the jones to approve his coaches.

I don't think we change DCs, if Garrett stays.

Hmmm while I think that is the likely outcome, I would not be shocked to see a scenario where we weren't quite bad enough for Jerry to fire Garrett, but we were bad enough to have some "mutual" parting of ways with a coordinator, which, I think would have to be Marinelli.

For sure. As much as I've stuck up for the guy, no coach can stay when the players turn. There's no coming back from it.

And it's tough to look at the last three asskickings and not think the team has quit, but I don't really think they have yet. I think the offense is completely broken and the defense holds and then starts pressing when they can't hold anymore and the levy keeps breaking. It doesn't matter, though, if that becomes routine. It does take on a life of it's own. I think we're pretty close to that right now.

The Skins game, though, is a game where the teams are both beat up a bit and otherwise pretty evenly matched. If the OL plays, it's a game we definitely could win. If we don't, though, it's season over for real, and then you have to look out.
