New Dak ESPN Contract Interview

Agents should play hard ball...but they should also be realistic. If they are demanding $40 million APY...Dak can probably expect to be tagged (and my guess is it would be the non-exclusive tag).

If a player is really serious about staying with a team and signing a deal, there comes a point where they may have to remind the agent who works for who.

Nothing new but I'd like to see someone throw him the hardball question. "If you are franchised, will you hold out"? I want to see someone ask him that question.
Good question
Doubt he would give a answer
Probably something like we expect this to get done
He may get tagged just for timing but I don’t think it’s gonna come down to playing on the tag
That gives him and the team no guarantees
And it’s expensive so hurts ability to go shopping

Better yet.....Dak, are you expecting to be the highest paid QB in the NFL? If you are we can end this drama today..........if not let's get to the negotiating and get this done.

Playing hardball could backfire and that if he is franchise and then has a career ending injury he misses out on the guarantee money. Sometimes you can be too greedy.

I like your question but we both know his agent has given him an answer for that.

“Right now I’m just focused on putting myself and my teammates in a position to win. I’ve been spending some time with family and am about to get back to my off season regimen. I want to be with the Cowboys long term and I believe they feel the same. In the meantime, my agent and Mr Jones will work through all the particulars and do their due diligence to ensure that we are aligned on a plan to take our team to the next level.”

he’s already said he doesn’t want to be the highest paid

Dak is pretty quick on his feet with all things media. I love the kid, every interview I see him in I find very impressive for someone so young. A real breath of fresh air, doesn’t seem to be any bs with this guy. God did hid momma raise him right and from such a humble backround. Is he Mahomes, not anywhere close but we can certainly win with this dude. He’s got the eye of the tiger, he’s going to be very successful in anything he chooses to do. I think $32-34 is probably a good number, but who the hell knows.

I don’t want to deprive any player of the money due. Like Elliot I’m glad he got his money. I just wish it was someone else that paid him. Prescott will take what they offer I’m sure

Dak Prescott should be paid a standard market rate...whatever that is for a franchise QB like his peers: Wentz and Goff were. Not a penny less...but also not a penny more.

It is the Dallas Cowboys FO that is holding this contract up by demanding that Dak signs a longer term contract than is standard so they can lock him into a lower APY. That is BS. And if I was Dak would never sign such a deal given that for the last 4 years I have ALREADY been paid a lower APY than what my peers have received.

I still don’t know the true Mahomes. Seems like Mr. Hail Mary throw the ball up for grabs. And he has the receivers to accomplish that. I can’t stand is the expressions already throwing his receivers under the bus like his buddy Aaron Rodgers. I’ll take Prescott any day of the week off for both of them
