Shan: “I texted Bobby last night and I said is there any update, any movement? And he said ‘Nope. They wrapped those three interviews. Will probably submit more today or tomorrow. Would not be surprised if they request Jonathan Cooley from the Panthers, but I think [Jim] Leonhard will be their guy. So they have to wait for Denver to get bounced before they can hire him.’”

Cooley is the pass game coordinator with Carolina. Dallas is clearly hunting for a new DC with an emphasis on the passing game/secondary.

Focusing on the back 7 is the kind of idiocy I expect from these morons.

You never build your defense from the back to the front. It's always from the front to the back and no we do not have enough players along the defensive line. Our ends are mediocre at best and until that changes and opposing QBs no longer operate in a comfortable pocket, it wont matter who is playing behind them.

The entire defense needs rebuilt on all three levels. Focusing on the front 7 not the back 7. With coaches and players.

I don't know, it looks pretty similar at this point. Zeroed in on Leohnard and will interview the rest in person to fulfill Rooney (zoom doesn't count towards it)... I mean further their interviews.

All of their major investments are at DT, aka the front. Also, a second round pick on a promising edge player. But most of their breakdown during the season was in the secondary.

It's likely that they hire Leonhard. He seems like he could be a good fit.
