Now that Black Monday has come and gone and we have all the major firings over. Who do you see as replacing Rod once he moves on and goes back to Tampa to be the Defensive line coach with his buddy?

Im hoping he wont leave and I think dallas can be his last stop. I dont know who to hire if he does leave. Either way I would expect the defense to take a step back if marinelli was to leave.

Why post this now? Let's assume he is with us next year until something changes. It's depressing to even think about losing him.

This idea that Marinelli is leaving is becoming annoying. There is no rationality to think that he's going to the worst team in the league so he can be with his friend. Rob is staying. The Cowboys respect him and he is now the main architect of this defense. I don't see him leaving.

I dont think he leaves. I think he wants to stay and build this team. Finish what he started. 2. He will have to take a demotion from DC to DL coach. Lovie is also a loyal guy and good friends with Frazier. I don't see him firing Frazier after 1 year. Marinelli is a loyal guy but also a proud guy. He's a guy who stands for what he says and what he does. I don't think he leaves for a lesser position and leave this playoff team which he help build to go to the worse team in football.

But with thay said. If he does leave then I want Eberflus as the DC. Guy has been around awhile and coached and learnt from some of the greats. He has done an excellent job as LB coach. I may want to let Marinelli leave so Eberflus doesn't take a DC job else where. Some other team will come calling soon for him.

Schwartz is under contract with buffalo. I know the HC just opted out but I think he comes back or buffalo finds a offensive coach that will keep schwartz.

The other 2 are good DCs but both are 34 guys. We are a 43 team now.

People speculate he is going.to be with his buddy, but the Cowboys didnt shaft Kiffin and Rod appears to have full control. Seems like a good situation to just walk away from.

Marinelli is likely to stay IMO. He's going to leave the defensive coordinator position of one of the premier franchises in all of professional sports so he can go be a defensive line coach at Tampa?

Please.

I know he's a loyal guy but that is just crazy. Dallas didn't fire Lovie and they have given Kiffen a cushy spot as an adviser to the team. Why on Earth would Marinellii take a pay cut and a demotion to go to Tampa Bay? Particularly when he's just as loyal to Kiffen? Answer is, he wouldn't.

The media speculation on all this has been just that... speculation. They based it off of Marinelli not staying in Chicago which is a completely different scenario because they fired Lovie and it would have looked disloyal to stay and work for those guys.

Apples-to-oranges.

Common sense should kick in here sooner or later (I hope).

I think Rod stays, I have heard nothing to even hint at him leaving to go to Tampa. Even Hostile has said this is a non issue, that Rod has no intention of leaving.

How about lets wait until we actually have a coaching vacancy before we discuss who is replacing that coach.

One of the great things about being a fan is having the ability to discuss hypotheticals. If you do not want to discuss Marinelli's [hypothetical] replacements then you need not visit this thread.
