So I gather. Maybe if he'd give that wedgie a good yank. It sure seems to be bunched up tight.

after this mock.......you have the audacity to trash mine?:laugh1: :laugh1: :laugh1:

why do we need 2 WRs? we don't.

we need secondary help at both CB and S.....we need depth....we need speed....we need ballhawks....we need playmakers.

I will take my mock anyday over this one. With my mock, we trade down and add quality picks. Also, we conserve the pick for Pac-Man for 2009.

Honestly the only flaw I see in my mock was the lack of a NT. If there were a way to get all the players that I listed, as well as a quality NT....then, dare I say, my mock would be PERFECT....but I'm not conceited or anything.:lmao2:

If we can't get Hardy Thomas or Kelley in the first then we don't go WR in the first. If we don't then we go Royal Bennet of Jackson later on we don't do both.

Justin King - beware the work out warriors

Jamal Charles not a bad pick.

I can't see us not picking a LB

We need a FUTURE #1 W.R. which I gave us, and without terry Glenn we'd need a SPEED slot guy which we don't have which is why I picked two W.R.'s!

UM, did you even READ MY MOCK???????????
We need secondary help at both c.B. and safety, thus I have us adding Pacman Jones aND Justin King at C.B., and I have us selecting a F.S./S.S. on top of it, what part of that did you NOT GET?????????????

QUALITY BACKUPS!

You mean a 7th round this year was just TOO MUCH to give up in your opinion? LOL

Well maybe you should, cause I bet if we took a poll, my mock would absolutely DESTROY yours!

So basically you're just saying that you wanted to act like a chump and did?

Hey, no sweat off my nose if you want a few more people to put your sour act on ignore. Most of us here have pretty good senses of humor and one guy tried to joke around with you and you god your undies all in a bunch over it and felt the need to set him straight. That's what is truly funny about it. That guy, knows more about the Draft than you've even dreamed of. Book it.

Okam is more of a 4th rounder, and Griffin is a 7th rounder at BEST!
And I did have Limas sweed in round 1.

Hos is right, I was goofin' around... the truth is, I don't consider Okam and Griffin to be particularly good NFL prospects, and I've said as much before...

I was just having a little fun with your claim that your mock would "please everyone"... it actually wasn't bad... :D

Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa...

Actually, I knew good and well that Okam and Griffin shouldn't go anywhere NEAR as high as I had them going... to me, that was part of the joke...

Maybe I should have said the Boys trade both their first round picks to move up high enough to draft Sweed, then package all of the rest of their picks to move up high enough to draft Charles... :D

I'd like to think that was true, I expect to have my annual look at the draft done inside of the next week, y'all can then judge for yourself...

But really, man, don't get upset at That'sMyQB, I wasn't offended at all... some people just don't get the cerebral comic genius that is the Bear... it's a cross I've had to bear (pun intended) for a while now...

Naw, not upset at him. Just yanking his chain. That is what we do around here sometimes. Give each other grief.

Well maybe you should, cause I bet if we took a poll, my mock would absolutely DESTROY yours!

So according to you, we add PacMan and King and that makes our CB group ok? That gives us 4 CBs, 6 with Ball and Oglesby....no offense, but that secondary does not make me feel the least bit confident if one or two of our starters go down. Now with Cason, we get a top tier prospect, with King a second tier prospect, and with Jack I....we get a 1st round prospect, who has to take a year off to rehab.....but should be ready for 2009 (so we get a 1st round talent, for 7th round money). We also get a ballhawking SS to put next to Hamlin, so as not to make Ken change positions. My mock gives our secondary maximum depth. Of course, both of us could end up looking like complete donkeys if our prospects become flops......but isn't that what is fun about the gamble of the draft.

As far as a future #1.....since Michael Irvin, name the last home grown #1...you can't. It could have been Jimmy Smith, but we traded him away cause he wasn't developing properly here. We traded for Galloway, and he was a crappy #1. We went after Keyshawn, but he was more of a #2. We finally found Owens, who is a great #1. Other than Limas Sweed, I am not comfortable with any of the WRs in the draft as far as being a #1. However, I firmly feel that our WR corp really only needs a slot guy right now, a Wes Welker type...and Jackson fits into that position. We have TO, Crayton, Hurd, and Austin. We have Stanback (a mystery to us), but the coaches seem to rave about his unguardability and hands. We have Glenn, who if healthy, will make our offense absolutely lethal. By drafting Jackson, we tell Hurd or Austin that one of them will be playing elsewhere next year.....most likely Hurd, since Austin is a quality return guy. TO will be getting an extension, and will be a Cowboy for at least 3 more years. So drafting a #1 is not a pressing need right now, no matter how much you want to kick and scream and try to debate the fact.

Then you say Dallas doesn't run the type of offense to use a traditional FB.....and I will say, maybe that is because Dallas has not had a traditional FB since Moose....who played with Garrett. I am sure if the Cowboys add Schmitt, they will have an even more diversified offense. With Schmitt and Anderson at FB...they can go either power or finesse. They can go big or small...Garrett would be so much more the little mad scientist than he already is.

Oh and as far as disrespecting SilverBear....big, huge, Texas sized mistake......if you want to get your head beat in with some serious football IQ, just keep on messing with the Bear.....he will take you to school and make you look like a fool......once he is done punking you, you will look like the love child between Daniel Snyder and Mark Cuban. My advice to you is, leave the Bear in hibernation.....cause if you wake up the sleeping beast....he will eat you up like honey. Oh and Silver......HOOK EM HORNS :)

so go ahead, take a poll.........if you think you are so sure your mock will DESTROY mine. I bet, I win not only cause mine is better, but also because you have chosen to smite your fellow posters on here.

I am not a big fan of King....but he does have all the measurables. In my mock, by adding PacMan and Cason first, King would be our 5th CB. It would allow him time to work on his game, to learn how to truly play the CB position at the next level. He would also be a great asset on STs with his speed.....

I don't think we go Cason King Pacman thats over kill. Pacman + a draft pick is enough in my opinion heck either pacman or a draft pick could be enough. I don't like the idea of a 2nd round pick being 5th on the depth chart and there's a lot of assumption as to how our CB situation would work and he wouldn't be able to beat anyone out of a roster spot.

Lawd, lawd, lawd, I can FEEL my ego swelling... but now the pressure's on, my draft analysis is gonna have to be an all-timer or I'll make my admirers look stupid...

I'll have to remind myself that I always come up big in crunch time... :D

Hook 'em, indeed... can't wait to see this new, "attacking" Longhorns defense...

NOPE!
It makes it ONE HECK OF A C.B. group and a LOT BETTER then just O.K.!
We'd have TWO PRO-BOWL C.B.'s in Pacman and Newman, Henry as the best 3rd C.B. in the league BAR NONE and King as our 4th C.B., I'd say that makes it BETTER Than OK.!

That gives us 4 CBs, 6 with Ball and Oglesby....no offense, but that secondary does not make me feel the least bit confident if one or two of our starters go down.

LOL, if TWO of our starters go down??????????????
Why don't we draft a T.E. cause we only have Witen and Fasano and what if they both get injured? Then we're screwed, so why not use a 1st rounder on a T.E. just in case? LOL

Now with Cason, we get a top tier prospect, with King a second tier prospect, and with Jack I....we get a 1st round prospect, who has to take a year off to rehab.....but should be ready for 2009 (so we get a 1st round talent, for 7th round money). Of course, both of us could end up looking like complete donkeys if our prospects become flops......but isn't that what is fun about the gamble of the draft.

I don't want MAXIMUM DEPTH at ONE POSITION, we need to fill a bunch of positions, and with Pacman and King, we MORE than fill our C.B. position as far as starters AND Depth, you're talking OVERKILL!
Cause if Pacman works out, we'd have our starting C.B.'s SET for the next 5-6 years, and we'd then have a #1 draft pick sitting on the bench in Cason for the next 5 years, or our 1st round pick as our 3rd Corner, and our 2nd rounder King as our 4th C.B. rarely if ever seeing the field.
With Newman/Henry/Pacman, that could be one of the best trio of C.B.'s the NFL has ever seen and you want to go out and DRAFT ANOTHER C.B. in round 1 AND 2??????????????
I'm sorry, but that's OVERKILL and would take away from other positions of need!

As far as a future #1.....since Michael Irvin, name the last home grown #1...you can't.

What on EARTH does that have to do with anything??????????????
We have drafted DEFENSE with our to pick almost every year, so I don't see your point.

It could have been Jimmy Smith, but we traded him away cause he wasn't developing properly here.

NO, we got rid of him cause he had a huge injury!

We traded for Galloway, and he was a crappy #1. We went after Keyshawn, but he was more of a #2.

So what on earth does all this mean?
If ANYTHING, you're making a GREAT CASE for us to draft a W.R.! LOL

We finally found Owens, who is a great #1. Other than Limas Sweed, I am not comfortable with any of the WRs in the draft as far as being a #1. However, I firmly feel that our WR corp really only needs a slot guy right now, a Wes Welker type...and Jackson fits into that position.

Just a slot guy????????
So you think Crayton is a #2 W.R. and we don't have to upgrade our #2 W.R.??????????
Plus you're right in we don't need much RIGHT NOW, but you have to understand, W.R.'s you draft take 2-3 years to develop into a #1 W.R., T.O. is 35 years old, we had BETTER draft a W.R. to groom NOW to take over when he's gone instead of waiting till he's gone and have to wait 2-3 years to develop a guy don't you think?

We have TO, Crayton, Hurd, and Austin.

T.O. is the #1 guy, but you have to look towards the FUTURE, he's gonna be 35 years old this year!

Crayton is a great #3 W.R. and just "solid" #2 guy and if T.O. goes down like you said with an injury, we're COMPLETELY SCREWED at W.R.!
Hurd is a nice #3 guy and Austin is nothing more that a straight line runner with speed who really hasn't shown much of anything.

We have Stanback (a mystery to us), but the coaches seem to rave about his unguardability and hands. We have Glenn, who if healthy, will make our offense absolutely lethal.

An UNKNOWN and a guy who even if he comes back will be over 35 years old this season also!

Yeah, it's just me right????????
The whole country knows we need another W.R., ESPN DOES, the NFL NETWORK DOES, Jerry Jones has come out and said his #1 off season priority is to get another stud opposite T.O., but it's not a pressing need right now no matter how much I kick and scream????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
:lmao2: :lmao:

for someone who thinks we won't have good enough depth at C.B. with Henry/Newman/Pacman/King IN CASE TWO of our starters get hurt, what if JUST T.O. gets hurt?
Ever think about that scenario???????

Then you say Dallas doesn't run the type of offense to use a traditional FB.....and I will say, maybe that is because Dallas has not had a traditional FB since Moose....who played with Garrett.

NO, it's because our offense isn't run like that so we haven't bothered to go after any F.B. because we don't run our 90's offense!

I am sure if the Cowboys add Schmitt, they will have an even more diversified offense. With Schmitt and Anderson at FB...they can go either power or finesse. They can go big or small...Garrett would be so much more the little mad scientist than he already is.

That's what we use Fasano for, line him up back there, that's the type of offense we run, and that's that, that's our offense, nothing else I can say EXCEPT we dont run that type of offense, now if this was 1995 and we lost Moose I'd say sure, but it's not!

Oh and as far as disrespecting SilverBear....big, huge, Texas sized mistake......if you want to get your head beat in with some serious football IQ, just keep on messing with the Bear.....

I don't even know who the BEAR is and don't recall disrespecting him!

he will take you to school and make you look like a fool......

No one can do that, so I'm not worried and I'm sure this BEAR fellow can fight his own battles since you just said so, so why dont' you mind your own business?????????

wonce he is done punking you, you will look like the love child between Daniel Snyder and Mark Cuban. My advice to you is, leave the Bear in hibernation.....cause if you wake up the sleeping beast....he will eat you up like honey. Oh and Silver......HOOK EM HORNS :)

I don't even know what you're talkin about, but man you sure do kiss his butt a lot, some sort of sick man crush I feel!

so go ahead, take a poll.........if you think you are so sure your mock will DESTROY mine. I bet, I win not only cause mine is better, but also because you have chosen to smite your fellow posters on here

I've chosen to SMITE them?
My god, conversation OVER, you're a waste of my time, go ahead, draft Cason, King, Ikegwounu, hell draft Trae Williams and Terrence Wheatley and then give up 2009 and 2010 1st round picks to move up and get DRC, cause what if our 6 C.B.'s get injured, THEN WHAT????????
:lmao: :lmao2:

You're the only person on planet EARTH that thinks a C.B. tandem of Pacman Jones and Terence Newman with Anthony Henry as our 3rd C.B. and Justin King as our 4th C.B. just isn't good enough, so much so that we need to go out and use our 1st round pick on Cason, Newman/Pacman/Henry/King WILL BE THEE BEST SET OF C.B.'s in the league next year, you have lost your freakin mind, conversation over!!:bang2: :bang2: :bang2: :bang2: :bang2: :bang2: :bang2: :bang2:
