Okay, first of all, I'm basing this on what I think we'll do in round 1, not what I want us to do. I'm cool with Barron, but again, he's not my first choice. I think we'll explore trading down, but I think no deal will blow us away since Tannehill, Richardson and anyone else worth moving up for will be long gone.
14.) Mark Barron, SS, Alabama
I'd rather go DL here, but everything is pointing to Barron. I do like his physical nature and his leadership, and the need is obvious, however I would take Fletcher Cox if he was available.
45.) *Trade Down*
With Peter Konz gone Dallas trades down to #73 in round 3 with Chicago and also picks up the #79 pick giving Dallas 3 third round picks.
73.) Billy Winn, DE, Boise State
I like him a bit more than Crick at this point. Both guys were quite productive as sophomores and juniors and then dropped off as seniors (Crick dropped off before the injury), but I like Winn's workout numbers better.
79.) Michael Egnew, TE, Missouri
Very few posters really want another TE, but imo we need a 4th option in the passing game ready to contribute immediately. Egnew has terrific size and pretty good speed, and while he may not be Gronk or Grahmn, he's likely a better reciever than Bennett already. If Ladarius Green is available, I'd take him, but I want to keep this mock realistic.
81.) Phillip Blake, C, Baylor
I really think the plan is to roll with the guards we have now and upgrade the center position via the draft. I thought about Ben Jones at 73, but the centers we have shown intrest in are Konz and Blake, so I chose Blake.
113.) Chris Rainey, RB/KR/PR, Florida
I really wanted to go CB here, but the chance to grab a dynamic return man was too much to pass up. Can also replace Felix Jones next year when his contract is up.
135.) Ryan Broyles, WR, Oklahoma
Just like John Mofit last year, every Cowboys' mock draft seems to have him. I'm honestly not sure how much he can contribute this year, but I think he can be a very good slot reciever once his knee heals.
152.) Ron Brooks, CB, LSU
We definately need depth here, and I've neglacted it so far.
186.) Casey Keenum, QB, Houston
He can compete with McGee for the 3rd QB spot, if he shows any promise McGee is gone.
222.) Coty Sensabaugh, CB, Clemson
Hopefully he sticks, has decent size and good speed. Cousin of Gerald Sensabaugh
