New Mock, with a trade down

I guess we gotta disagree that a getting 2 second round picks is a bad trade.

Also the consensus is this years tackles lack the top end talent that last years group had (No TWilliams or ROkung), but that doesn't mean it lacks guys that are capable of starting from day 1.

How is Camiri a project? You may not like him as a prospect, but he still isn't considered a project.

It has nothing to do with liking him or not. I don't have any personal feeling towards any players right now except one who I know well and he's being overrated because of what I've seen ( Prince Amukamara ).

I've also seen Camiri play and I've liked what I have seen, but he is a project who would most likely NOT start from the day one. This discription:

Shorter, explosive edge rushers can get under him and drive him back. Too much depth and not enough width with kick step, giving defenders an extra split second to build steam. Doesn't sink hips enough either. However, capable of holding own on an island most of the time. Can hold ground when able to establish position before making contact. Absorbs initial push and re-sets feet quickly working against one-dimensional bull rushes. Locks on and can use long arms to ride defender past the pocket working against one-dimensional speed rushes. Not a great athlete but shows adequate lateral mobility and footwork when forced to redirect.

Struggles to stay low coming out of stance but drives legs and can move defenders off the ball. Though not a great athlete and can whiff in space, takes adequate angles to downfield blocks and quick enough to get into position at the second level. Can open hips and pull around tight end.

pretty much is what I saw and, as of right now, that makes him no better than Sam Young, who's already on the roster.

He's not alone either. Soder and Castonzo are in the same category. I saw Soder play against Nebraska. He didn't impressed anybody, much less dominated anybody. I have not seen Castonzo play live, but what I've seen in films, particularly against another player who the Cowboys would be passing on if they do your trade ( Robert Quinn ) wasn't impressive either. In short, all of these guys, most probably, are projected players who's going to take a season in order to develop unless they get drafted by a team who's willing to put up with their growing pains right away. Where they're projected to be going ( late teen - mid twenties ) , I don't think that's going to happen.

I think its a given he will be here next year.

The OP named every FA but him so either he isn't re-signing him or he doesn't know he is a FA.

Why in the world would you trade down when you are getting a top 7 pick? We are talking about an impact guy here. Also I highly doubt Mankins is coming here. He is said to want 10 million a year and there will be a new cap.

I agree, New England will not let him get away(possible franchised), plus there are a lot of other teams out there that would love to have him, I seriously doubt Jerry Jones can pull this one off...

I doubt NE franchises him. Assuming the franchise tag works the same way in the new CBA, all o-linemen are grouped together so he would make the averege of the top 5 linemen (all LTs likely). I can see them transition tagging him, and wanting a pick to not match. But imo, NE doesn't want a huge contract with a lot of garuntees, so they may not match.

Mankin's is the fantasy FA right now, I agree however that it isn't realistic to expect him to end up in Dallas.

I say look more for a guy like Justin Blalock, Davin Joseph or maybe even Carl Nicks if the Saints don't want to spend so much money on the guard position.

So I trade down with St. Louis (21rst pick) for a 2nd + 2012 2nd rounder

1.) Gabe Camiri, OT, Wisconsin
2a.) Adrian Clayborn, DL, Iowa
2b.) Rahim Moore, FS, UCLA
3.) John Mofit, OG, Wisconsin
4.) Casey Matthews, ILB, Oregon
5.) Jake Kirkpatrick, C, TCU
6.) Mark LeGree, S, Appalachin State
7.) Allen Bradford, RB, USC

That'd be great. I just don't see Clayborn dropping out of the first. Many now have him 10-20.

Once underclassmen officially declare, you'll see mock drafts putting him lower. I assume most are basing his draft status off his 2009 season, not his 2010 season.

Gabe Carimi is a player and I'd be ecstatic if the Cowboys drafted him. However, I wouldn't want him at the no. 6 (or Top 10) for that matter.

I think projects as a RT that can man the position in his rookie season. That's valuable. Particularily, when you realize Marc Colombo has seen his better days in the rear-view mirror.

I think Free can continue to man the LT position. Remember, this season was his first go-through the division/league on the left side of the line. I'm willing to bet he continues to improve.

Nice mock!

You could get more in that trade, imo. But for the most part, I like the players you took and in the slots you took them. I may try sqeeze in 1-2 of those UNC defenders...but that the tarheel homer in me.

He's trading down in the 1st to get him, I believe.
