This isn't all that serious, but it is coincidentally funny.

Jack Kent Cooke stadium opens in 1997. The year prior Washington goes 9-7 and out of the playoffs.

(ignoring Philly since it doesn't fit)

Last year we go 9-7 prior to our new stadium opening.

Right now NY has a decent shot at 9-7 and missing the playoffs the year before their new stadium opens.

3 out of 4 a coincidence or do we need to consult Miss Cleo?

I think this is a greater indication of too much time on your hands than a jinx.;)

Dude, you have way too much free time.

Yeah, it took all of 90 seconds to look up when the Commanders and Eagles opened their stadiums and to pop over to NFL.com to see their respective records.

It didn't work for the Eagles. The Stinc opened in 2003. In 2002 they went 12-4 and made it to the NFC Championship before losing to the Super Bowl Champion Buccaneers.

What was their record in 2002?

They went 13-3 in 2004 and lost the SB. They went 12-4 in 2002 and lost the the Bucs in NFC Championship game.

Yeah that's pretty funny if the GMen wind up 9-7 and it plays out like that. They'll be one loss away from that 7 after this Sunday.

Let me introduce you to the following concept:

"small sample size"

One more

"specification searching"

My bad guys, 2002, not 2004.
