Sorry if this is repost but I never saw it mentioned here.

The many stars have been decreased to just 8 to represent the 8 divisions.
The football has been "modernized" to resemble the one atop the Lombardi trophy.
The font has changed and the overall logo is slightly taller and thinner.

Not a huge change, but I like it. Not so sure on the font, but the rest of the changes aren't bad at all.

I probably wouldn't have even noticed quite honestly.

I don't I would have noticed the change, but I must say I like the modernized version. The darker blue gives it a bolder look. I like the reduction in stars. Definitely less busy. I also prefer the new font, just because it gets rid of the curlee "L".

The curvature of the earlier font flows with the logo's border better than the revised font. Still, the newer font is bolder... less finesse looking... and better reflects the 'hardcore' personality of the league much more. I like it.

The new one is an elegant, if austere bouquet, robust, but somewhat puckery. Pleasing to the palate, with an outstanding finish.

The old one had a musty scent, but left a charming aftertaste.

Why would they change something that's been the standard for over 60 years? Do people just sit around and say "what can we change today"? I don't get the point of changing it.

The new logo is probably more HDTV friendly. :)
