Jerry gave us all a preview on 105.3 The Fan last week when he said they were going to use Dak's abilities more "aka his legs."

Was this RPO just implemented to exploit NY or is this who Dallas has become?

same offense we saw dak's rookie year. just better executed last night. dak made good throws, good reads, good judgement on when to run. he actually opted to audible several plays designed to go downfield because of coverage, etc.

Not exactly the same. The RPOs, sure. But we playactioned and rolled out more then. We still haven't done much of that and that was his best play by far.

It looks like its going to be who we need to be if we want to move the ball.
Dak is too limited as a pocket QB and its causing our best offensive weapon to be running into brick walls. This wont stop. At this level teams make you beat them with the thing you are the worst at. Landon Collins told us what everyone already knows.

I am thinking the organization has come to the conclusion that we will be looking to replace Dak with a gunslinger in the near future so why not let him run to create mismatches.

If Dak embraces the role his upside potential may be Cam Newtonish.

We’ll have to see. Dak isn’t a dropback pocket passer. Trying to make him one is foolish. He needs more of what we saw last night to be even serviceable. That was more of the good Dak and I actually enjoy watching him play like that but it’s bittersweet because no matter how well he does, it’s obvious it will never be good enough to win a super bowl. He just can’t keep a consistent passing game going all game. Too many 3 and outs and not enough throws downfield.

The Lunch Break on DC.com has mentioned Dal may just run this type of offense and keep bringing in a new QB every five years as they do in college. Man is that realistic?

no this has always been our offense the play caller seemed to have got away from it to much,,just like deep balls etc its the scheme and the playcalling..even after the bomb we were moving the ball and got up 10 and what do you know SL goes into coast mode, stoped all the misdirection, big lay calls etc and was just trying to hammer Zeke up the middle for 2 quarters.. really nothing new and if they would have simply ran More RPOs last week thats a win..this offense is STALE and I blame more of the scheme then the players lack of production..,they seem to take the foot off the peddle anytime they have lead..bad way of thinking..

Pretty sad that it took 2 years and an opening loss to the Panthers for the coaching staff to go in this direction. This his what we talk about when we say the Cowboy have horrid coaching. The adjustments are all waaaay too late if they come at all. Typically need embarrassing losses or season for major change to happen.

That's it, the offense was moving the ball and looked better then the stale playcalls came back. They get away from what works and what we are doing well. We stopped getting Tavon some touches, stopped RPO's, stopped trying misdirection and counters. I think we need a Catholic school nun with a ruler next to Linehan and we he starts to stray away or abandons what's working, she raps him across his knuckles with the ruler.

hahah give afew fans in the stands a shock collar remote with the collar around SL ballz and everytime he tries to coast BZZZZZ!!:lmao::omg:

It wasnt so much RPO last night as it was the read option and Dak took some big hits. Keep running that as your base offense and Cooper Rush will be starting soon.

I made a joke about it last week, but watching KC dust off the triple option was fun. You obviously can't run it often, but at the right time could be deadly. Imagine Dak running it with
Zeke and Tavon, that will make a defense poop itself. There are special plays this team can use to take advantage of the talents we do have instead of constantly bemoaning what we don't. Right now, this is what we have, find ways to make it work.

Hopefully, it’s still a work in progress...because 20pts isn’t gonna win a lotta games in this league.

How Dak was used in the 1st and 4th quarters is how he needs to always be used.

Agreed. Wentz and Griffin come to mind. Cam could do it but he's 265 pounds but he too takes a beating.

If he runs too much he is going to end up hurt. That what happened to rg3.

Our Offense executed much better.

THIS! That's why you almost never see us blow a team out or win by a large margin... We take our foot off the pedal as soon as we have a 10+ point lead.

Does a QB get slide protection running a triple option?
