So, if Garret is the O-coordinator, are we heading back to the old timing based offense from the glory days?

Some parts of this team could like very familiar to Jason

TO - new Irvin
Glenn - new Harper
JJ/MB3 - currently Emmitt's job description
Colombo - bad arse lineman
Witten - Novacek

This is exciting

Bill Parcells runs a timing based offense too.

Interesting...but it seems that we have neglected running the deep comeback and curl routes that Michael use to run...

Romo doesnt have the arm strength that Aikman has, so we probably wont run those routes quite as much.

Just like with every new coaching staff everyone better be ready to battle for their starting position because it all should be up for grabs.

The only thing the current team has over the old is Glenn is hands down better than harper ....

Witten has more skill than jay but jay was craftier.

Are you sure about that between Glenn and Harper? I'd say they're about even. Plus Harper has the size advantage over Glenn with about the same speed.

Glenn is close to being a number one reciever.

Harper is just a little better than Crayton.

When you have a Young Emmitt, Irvin, and Jay playing off you ...... its easy to look good.

Harper was real good with the long ball ..... thats it.

Glenn and harper couldn't be much different, IMO. Alvin Harper is basically Ashley Lelie, he knows one route, run straight, jump, catch the ball.

Offense will look almost identical.

A lot like Sean Paytons.

Except Harper was exceptional in the playoffs....I know Harper's career was short lived but he came up big in the playoffs. Always did.

Good point.

Harper - Short career. Contributed to winning 2 SB's.

Glenn - long career. No SB wins.

I would take the former EVERY TIME.... quality over quantity.

He worked great in the system, look at Terrence Copper in New Orleans or Jabar Gaffney in New England. They thrive in that system but are not excellent wideouts.

Dallas' versatiliity disguised the fact Harper was a one trick pony.

When they turned to his trick he performed it well but he could never be the focus of an offense.

I'm not dogging Harper that much. He fit well in our offense and was good for us. What it boils down to though, is he was a good WR because of his size and jumping ability. TG does it with running good routes, speed, hands, etc. They're just completely different players.

Harper made plays when it mattered and the last memory of Glenn for me is watching him catch a pass fall down and fumble it out of the end zone for a safety.
This after an emotional goal-line stand by our defense. Some may argue that Glenn should be up for the horns with Romo after that loss.
I think when people start comparing players from different era's and scheme's it's ridiculous. It makes no sense and I go by what players did when the games mattered most....Harper was a stud in those games. One-trick pony...whatever.... he helped us get rings.

What's it going to be then, eh?

I think we will go back to more of a West Coast flavor, which fits Owens' style anyways.
