Why the hell would you pay the money for BOSE, when you can pay the same or LESS and get twice the product from Grado, Beyerdynamic, Sennheiser, Audio-Technica, Shure, Etymotic Research, Ultimate Ears, av123, or a host of other hifi manufacturers? Granted, you can't just walk into any best buy and buy these, but it doesnt take much research.

I have a set of Bose headphones, the Triports, that I love and in general I do like their stuff, but there is better for the money. Problem is that to know what's good, you basically have to get a bachelors degree in audio enginnering unless you just go by dollar signs.

But if we can upgrade...why not?

As far as money goes...I can't afford to buy everything to compare! I got money, but not that damn much! (well, i have some that i haven't counted yet).

I'll assume you're refering to me since I am the one that commented on the headphones while the OP is talking about a sound system since pretty much all those companies are known for their headphones and ear plugs, not home entertainment speakers.

The reasons I bought my Bose Heaphones are simple A) I got a huge discount, ended up paying 86 bucks including tax B) Their service is top notch, a year and a half after I had them, they shorted in one ear and Bose replaced them without even asking for a receipt with a brand new pair and C) They sound great.

I stay away from Bose home theater products mostly because I prefer to be able to pick my own components. Same reason I don't do home theater in a box packages.

Bose is overrated and over priced. I got 10x the system for the same amount of money. I could see how some people would want the small size, but the sound quality isnt comparible to a full system.

I think a Lexus has them, not sure...

The newer Lexus' use Mark Levinson sounds systems as an option. Mine has the stock Pioneer system and it sounds incredible.

Mazda's do use Bose though and I believe some Mercedes cars use it.

I have the 123 Bose System and it's kind of stupid, can't even hook it up to our new Plasma in our bedroom. Over priced POS in my opinion. In our living room we use all Klipsch speakers and they sound great for way less money.

I do, however, have Bose computer speakers and they sound amazing for being so tiny.
