YouTube TV is likely to innovate. Expect better graphics, with analytics and new ways to see the game—though nothing’s been finalized yet.
Unlike the Sunday, Monday and Thursday night games that are produced by NBC, ESPN and Amazon, the Sunday Ticket games will be produced by FOX and CBS. How YouTube adds better graphics to a live feed they aren't producing, I dunno. The NFL is tight on innovation of it's broadcasts too. The league forbids partners from using "future technology" to broadcast its product, a big reason Apple dropped out. I hope the article is right. I hope YTTV offers a single team option and coool, innovative new stuff. I'm just not holding my breath.

Individual games at $7.99 each; single team option at $99.99 per year. At least that's what I'd do.

They will balk at the single game option. Unpredictability of revenue. Single team option has merit for the first year or two. If I ran the company I would force the full subscription starting year 3 once I have the subscribers hooked to the product.

I am not paying $65/mo for Youtube TV then paying another $300 for Sunday Ticket. I quit DirecTV because they made me purchase their basic package to get Sunday Ticket. I was spending $60 a month for something I never watched.

If they offer the Cowboys games without a Youtube TV subscription for $100 I would do it. But there are only 2 or 3 games per season that the Cowboys are not on TV in my area so then if becomes a question of whether paying $25 per game is worth it.

I currently have Verizon FiOS with all the channels, including some sports channels that are part of the Youtube sports package. The channels cost me $103/mo. I have multiroom DVR which is another $25 a month. And there is a $42/mo rental fee for the set top boxes.(an outrageous rip off!)

The total TV package is about $170/mo.

From what I can tell, switching to YoutubeTV would cost about $125 per month for the same programming, but there are no costs for boxes or DVR. so there would be a $45/mo save to switch. However, at first glance I don't see some channels I currently get and watch frequently. I don't see The History Channel and AHC for example on the Youtube website. It could just be an oversight on the Youtube web page, but I would need to see the full channel lineup comparison.

Then there is the question of Google's shady data "sharing" activities. I am skeptical of their behavior to begin with so it adds to the difficulty of my decision.

I just want Red Zone without having to subscribe to YouTube TV. The video and audio compression is crap on that service.

Sign me up too, as long as it includes the Red Zone channel.

My understanding is the RedZone as you knew it on Directv is no more. They'll have the whiparound on NFL Network and that's it. I haven't seen anything yet that indicates Youtube will offer something similar.

I'll get the full boat no matter what. I love switching between games and having 4 or 5 TVs and computer screens going at one time! A Fantasy Football dream...

  • FOX and CBS, the Sunday afternoon homes of NFL games, have to be nervous. If a viewer pays for the new YouTube package, that will supply every game in the 6.5-hour window on either smart TVs or phones or computers. So it’s another pull away from needing cable to be able to see NFL games.
This is the only point that I think they're mistaken on. The whole reason why fox and CBS is popular is because you don't need cable, that's why it has a much larger viewer base (in most cities all you need is just a $10 antenna to watch both). "Pulling people away from Needing cable" has ever been an issue with those 2, if anything not needing cable is why those 2 channels are so popular

The fox app now will even let you watch it without an antenna (the app auto detects your local affiliate and then let's you live stream the channel with no cost or subscription)

The cost was always going to be in this range ( similar to DirecTV price ) regardless of who won the contract .......NFL mandate. In fact, it's the reason Apple dropped out. They wanted to give customers cheaper packages....NFL said no.

For me in PA, there are only 2-3 Cowboys games that arent on TV per season and for those I stream. I have a comcast cable package and if I cancel everything but the internet, the internet price goes up $30 per month. So the streaming options are not worth it for me.

I hate seeing a social media giant get rewarded by the NFL even though that social media giant was one of several who has been extremely one-sided politically and silenced certain viewers (against the law).

Directv often was giving discounts to keep customers; I doubt that happens youtube.

Its not as high as I thought it might be.

satellites are going to be found only in the country and places without high speed connections; which is not a lot of places anymore.

I have been getting NFL ST free 6 or the last 7 years.
But DTV rates are high, as I call every year to get my fees reduced, it is a hassle. They reduced it $50 a month back in the summer. But now the rates are going up by $8 in January. Can't wait to dump them.
I can get you tube if they have all the channels that I get on DTV for the $64.
I don't care about all the channels, but others in the house do. I should make them pay the extra from now on.. If there is a big channel line up difference.
I can get you tube tv plus NFL ST and still save $50 a month on top of the current $50 I am saving.

time to start comparing streaming service to dish or cable.
